Good planner for most applications. I have ran it for a few hours prepping pine trim for a house. As long as the knives are kept sharp it has had very little issues keeping up with the softer wood. I have stalled it a few times on wider boards 6+ inches but for smaller boards had no issues.

I've been using thickness planers for nearly 40 years, and I know them inside and out. In short, a good machine eats the top of a board while you stand back and watch, and will do so quickly, and without too many passes. Put all such expectations aside with these contractor jobsite toys! Great features at a solid price point
I bought this a couple months ago to build a book shelf with. Learning to use it was pretty straight forward there are some great tutorials out there. Overall this is a great tool and I would buy it again. I did have an issue with clearing debris even with a powerful vacuum attached, however to be fair i was removing a lot of material.

Disappointing planer cheaply made.
Only had the 735 for about 1-1/2 years and have had nothing but trouble with it. The chain jumped the sprocket and that prevented raising or lowering the planer. Supposedly under a 3 year warranty? Took the hood off to look inside and saw the small pulley without the chain on it. Two small screws hold the sprocket on. The sprocket appears to be fiber while the 4 corners are steel. There is lots of slop in the fiber/nylon sprocket. Very cheaply made planer. Very disappointed in this piece...

The planer worked well at first, but issues began to arise. I bought this planer and used it occasionally for making furniture for my home. After about 6-7 months, the rollers stopped moving the wood properly, causing damage to the material. The alignment was also off and would not stay level, no matter what I tried.
