Not Universal. Doesn’t Fit My Char-Broil Grill.
I bought this "universal" rotisserie kit from Char-Broil thinking it would work with my Char-Broil Performance Series Silver 5-Burner LP Grill. "It’s the same brand. How could it not fit?" Well, it doesn’t. This kit is clearly made for grills with a notch in the lid to hold the spit rod. My grill lid is flat when closed, so there’s no way to install it. The hole at the bottom doesn’t help at all. Nowhere in the product description does it warn you about this, and "universal" is misleading when ...
Do Not Buy for Large Grill
Unfortunately, this rotisserie kit did not work on our 4-burner Commercial Series Charbroil grill. The spit is too short, the included support for the spit was inadequate, and the brackets which mount onto the grill box prevented us from closing the lid. We tried alternative ways to position the brackets, but in every instance, the curve of the lid scraped either on the spacer nut or the spit itself.

Replacement grill rotisserie
After years of setting my old motor wouldn't rotate. Bought this replacement set to have the additional prongs so that I could do 2 turkeys at the same time. Used my original bar because it was longer. This drive motor didn't have any problem with 2 14 pound turkeys. I like that it plugs directly into my extension cord without an outside transformer like the original. If needed I would buy this again.

Bought a Char-Broil Grill from Lowe's along with this Char-Broil Universal Rotisserie Kit. Rotisserie Kit does not fit. The spit rod sits about an inch too high above the rod notch provided on the grill, thereby the grill cover does not close. Spoke to Char-Broil via emails and phone calls. does not fit Cuisinart gas grill
The Cuisinart is a very common grill. The vertical slots on the motor-side mount are too wide to fit the holes in the grill. The horizonal slots on the mount, below the vertical ones, work but this puts the rod so high the grill cover won't close. The mount on the non-motor side is tall enough that none of the lower slots on the motor-side mount can be used., so I have NO idea why those slots are there. Spectacular for the price
This was so easy to use and set up, and it makes cooking things like chicken or roasts a breeze. A little clumsy to get your food on and off of it, but once it's on there you don't have to do any work until it's time to eat.
