What Customers Are Saying
The trimmer is generally well-received for its ease of use, adjustability, and long battery life. Key features include a push-button line feed and dual-speed settings that provide good power for various trimming needs. However, some users report issues with the line feed mechanism leading to excessive string consumption, and the trimmer may struggle with thicker weeds on the higher power setting. Overall, it appears to be a suitable cordless trimming solution for homeowners with small to medium-sized yards.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not sure why everyone seems to be negative and hating on this product. I have owned this Trimmer for at least 4 years now, since they first came out with this design and it works every time. Still have the very same trimmer today. It rarely fails to advance string when the button is depressed and in most cases that is due to the string being stuck to the line reel. I use all 4MP battery's and can usually cover my 1/2 acre lot with two batt...

Good and Sturdy, Difficult to Disassemble/Repair
Let me address the elephant in the reviews: line feeding. Yes, there is an issue with getting the line to feed, however, I've found that the issue is with the tension of the line on the spool, not the trimmer. My first instinct is to wind it tight and neat, but if you pack it in too tightly it won't be able to unwind with the momentum alone (which is basically how it works). It's not a flaw of the design, but of the buyer who expects a button-triggered line feeder to be powered. That's my first...
Auto and Manual Line Advance Stopped Working
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Has been a good trimmer, still trims well but a couple years ago the line feed (auto and manual) stopped working. I had just bought 5 or 6 new line spools so I have just been manually advancing the line by removing the cover and pulling the line out manually. It looks like the spindle that the spool fits on has worn down and the spool is binding on the spindle so it cannot rotate as it needs to to advance the line. Almost out of line so will ...

Stops advancing the string
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned 2 of these cordless string trimmer and when they work correctly I love them. The problem is that they quickly lose the ability to advance the string.i own many Craftsman cordless products and generally they are high quality tools. This trimmer doesn’t fit that category. The company sent me a replacement and it did the same thing.

Awesome 20V Trimmer
I previously owned a Dewalt 20V and Kobalt 40V trimmer. This Craftsman, by far is the best in my opinion... I'm pushing 70 yrs old. This is light enough and the 4 ah battery lasts a lot longer than the other trimmer batteries. It might not be as powerful as the Kobalt I owned, but it's perfect for me and my needs. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the first one I bought had an issue with the lock that locks the top and bottom bars. I adjusted it to my comfort and used it several times...
Craftsman V20 4Ah string trimmer mdl # CMCST910M1
I have had this trimmer almost 2 years and really only used it this year after I had a new yard put in. I've had no issues until recently. I went into my shed to use it and the top and bottom pole had separated. I took out the screws at the adjustment clamp to place it back and it will not adjust. It will not go back together. I spent alot of money on it, and own all craftsman battery tools, and now it is useless. Broken without any fault of my own, walked in and found it hanging to the floor...

So far...so good.
I read a lot of bad reviews about the spool on this. But since it was a Craftsman product and I already had a 20v hedge trimmer, I decided it was worth a try. After assembling it and letting the battery charge fully, I was ready to trim around my pond, which normally takes an hour and a half and two tanks of fuel with my gas string trimmer. When I first started it, I heard the string being cut and it sounded like the trimmer stopped. I tried a second time with the same result. (Being hearing-im...
Amazing Trimmer
I have owned trimmers before and liked the Ryobi 18V top of the line trimmer but the issues were the normal 1. too light of string so you went through it fast, 2. too much line fees, so you went through it fast, 3. you could not put on a higher .080 to .085 string, which is the minimum you need if you have a lawn of any size, and want to move through your job quickly and completely, and not have to charge a battery twice. So, I haven't had a trimmer in awhile because I have been traveling for t...

Fixed the sticky spool issue! READ!
I had read the reviews for this trimmer and saw numerous posts regarding the string advance not working. It was off-putting but I wanted a cordless trimmer to go with the rest of my V20 tools. Plus, it came with a 4.0Ah battery, so it was a decent deal. I love how light it is, it cuts great, and lasts a long time on one charge. It surely beats having to pull out an extension cord or gas up my big trimmer. The line advance? Well... In my case the sticky spool was true and for a while it was frus...
Good quality, goes through a lot of string.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had this trimmer for a few seasons and does a great job. Only thing I would change is the automatic string advance, seems to waste a lot of string.
