What Customers Are Saying
The product has mixed reviews. Some users found it easy to assemble and start, with a powerful engine that handles thick grass well. The self-propelled feature was also reported as helpful. However, many experienced reliability and durability issues, including problems with starting, leaks, mechanical failures, and poorly designed components. The overall consensus suggests the product's performance is inconsistent, making it a risky purchase for some customers.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews.Someone gave a used one they had for 2 years and had been sitting for monthsand it started right up and I cut atleast one or 2 yards a day and so far for the first 60 days haven't had any issues and am actually impressed how well it runs through thick grass without shutting like a lot of other mowers will die repeatedly in thick grass so far so good and
Fire the Engineer
Total piece of junk. Made to side-expel, bag, and mulch, but does a poor job of bagging, due to this. Cuttings don't get propelled into bag with enough force. Cuttings get mulched up and stick to undercarriage by DESIGN! Rolling speed of mower is to fast, preventing ejection rate to bag to keep up with intake rate. Sucks down gas like a V-8. Total engineering FAILURE! Worst part is they slandered the Craftsman name by attaching it too this overpriced piece of junk.

Good mower, but not for me.
I've had this mower about 3 weeks and I'm taking it back today. Craftsman are good mowers - I bought this to replace my 23 year old Craftsman. I felt this one was underpowered when I bought it, but with a 30 day return period and few options in the store, I tried it anyway. I thought I was buying a mower under what I needed, and I was right. That's my fault, not the mower. The power of this mower is fair, but my front lawn is a medium width grass blade which is Zoysia grass which this mower...

What a disappointment
Don't buy this lawnmower!! I had a Craftsman push lawn mower that had a Troy-Bilt engine and I loved that. I think I paid a little over $300 for that maybe seven or eight years ago and it started up first time every time. And I'm not a young woman but I didn't have a problem with that at all I mean I kept it clean and I changed the spark plug in the air filter every year and check the oil and all that. Unfortunately someone stole it out of my backyard. So last summer I had to get the money toget...
Not worth it
One star is too much!!! Purchased this model and returned the next day. The pull cord was stuck, and blade would not move. The replacement mower gave us same problems the first day to start but we were able to get it going. Used it twice and the third time could not get it to start once again. The pull cord would not budge, and I had to hit the blade to get it to move around. Since it was over the 30 days Lowes would not exchange it and they sent it out under the extended warranty that we p...

Disappointed
I purchases this Lawn Mower last year. It was only used 4 times. I took it out this year and it will not start or work. I called customer service and the representative was rude. I advised her there was no gas in the unit during the winter. She basically said well you need to put sea foam in it cause the problem your having is because gas was left in it. Then she gave me a repair place over 1 hour away. This unit has a 2 year warranty and being only a year old it should not have any issues. Low...

This mower just sucks. Bought from Lowes in April 2024. It worked well for the first couple mows. The problem is, if you stop the mower for any reason it will NOT restart . Doesn't matter if it was 5 minutes into your mow or 45. Sometimes it will restart after 30 minutes, sometimes hours to a day later before it starts again. Replaced several parts with no improvement. Also, the oil cap pops open randomly while mowing. 3 times I have looked down and realized oil was spewing everywhere. $400 was...

Find Something Else
This lawnmower is a waste. I’ve had it for 2 months and mow 3 yards, twice a month. It died several times within the first use. Second time I only had to mow 2 of the yards, not many issues. I do have to open the back and let the grass clippings come out there and on the side, in order to not muck up the blade. By its third use, it had died several times again, causing delays with me needing to let it cool and wait to start again. At this time it had also ran out of oil. By the 4th use, it quit ...

Check box contents before leaving store
I have always bought Craftsman products, but the quality has plummeted. When I unpacked it, there were 2 carriage nuts and bolts missing, and a T bolt missing. I double checked the booklet to make sure. So I had to scrummage around for substitute bolts, but then found that one of the bolts supplied to screw the arms into the base of the machine was mis-threaded and could not go into the pre-drilled hole. Again, resorted to a substitute from my toolroom. When I was handling the machine, I noticed...

Not reliable
Here we are in the year of our Lord 2023 and it seems lawn mower companies can't produce a reliable mower with a reliable engine and other features such as wheel adjustments. Honda, which produced a reliable engine like the mower I purchased back in 2003, has abandoned the US gas powered motor market (but strangely kept it in the UK). Briggs & Stratton now only produces engines with an "auto-choke" feature. What was the big problem with manually choking an engine before starting anyway? Are a lo...
