I was looking for a little reciprocating saw for around the house and yard and came across this Bosch 12V. It peaked my attention because I have an older Bosch 12V Drill with 3 batteries and 2 chargers. Although the batteries looked the same, I said to myself "there's no way this will be compatible". Low and behold, the batteries were exactly the same! I started to use it right away cutting some wild growing brush which included some small oaks. I clicked the battery which came with the saw ...
Great, flexible, tool for small to medium projects
Portable, can be manouvered in tight spaces, good quality, good battery life. You will be happy with this tool if you need something bigger and stronger than an oscillating multi-tool, but don't expect to do demolish work with it. This tool is really well made. I have loved this line of Bosch (the 12V series) for a long time and buy them as gifts for my friends. Small, solid performers that never let me down. But of course they are not 18V pro contractor tools, nor are they intended to be. I ...

Excellent tool - Very versitile!
As with all Bosch tools with 12v Lithium-Ion batteries, this tool is great. I am always amazed at the life and power of their 12v tools. In addition to the Pocket Reciprocating Saw, I have their 12v pocket driver PS21. This saw is very light fwd/rev veriable speed. My best use is cutting any hole in plaster or drywall, with any accuracy needed. I use a 9 inch blade that tapers to about 1/2" - this allows me to speed through long or deep cuts, but cut a 90 deg. with about 1/2 inch radius. Best...
Another Handy BOSCH
I purchased this for two reasons.... it is a BOSCH tool; I am using it to cope crown molding using very thin blades. It takes a bit of practice.... moving from a coping saw to an electric reciprocating one but the process can be achieved with practice. And practice is what it took to cope with the coping saw in the first place. USE THIN BLADES. GO online to buy extra batteries as back ups. You can also use the saw for cutting small bits of firewood, plywood, metal, conduit.... whatever you...

David vs. Goliath
The raw energy potential belies the lowly 12-Volt rating and compact size. On first use, this saw cut through heavy gauge aluminum plate with ease. It also ripped through aluminum and copper tubing and mild steel rods with ease. It, never faltered and the battery had plenty of reserve power after 20 minutes of cutting. It is lightweight, easily used with one hand, and is virtually vibration-free. A big plus is that this saw comes with one battery pack, a charger, and a sturdy tote bag. Note...

Exactly the tool I needed
Needed to cut away sub-flooring around a drum trap but the job was inside a wall. Found this and it looked like it would do the the trick and it certainly did. A job that would have taken me an hour and most likely a few bloody knuckles ended up taking about 5 minutes. Saw seems well constructed and was powerful enough. Battery charged up quickly and there is a built-in light which also helped. I imagine I'll find plenty of other uses for this around the house.
So glad I purchased this!
Find I do a lot of shopping on line now. This means cardboard boxes to break down. As I don't have the strength in my hands that I used to, and even using a titanium blade in my box cutter, it was a time consuming and difficult task. This saw has certainly helped with that! The only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 star rating is that I do have trouble turning the blade holder far enough to insert the blade. Again, this goes back to the hand strength issue. So, overall rating is 5 stars and...

Replaces Hacksaw for Light Work
Milwaukee sells something like this called the Hackzall, and if you think of it on those terms this is a great tool. I don't know how many times I've pulled out the big Bosch recip saw to overkill simple tasks. Since I already have the drill and impact driver this is the perfect 12v addition. The bag is big enough to hold all three now, plus one out of my three chargers, plus my bit box. Perfect little saw for odd jobs. I have been eyeballing this ever since I started working on our electrical, ...

great little saw
If you remember that this is not a full size battery recip saw you will be happy. I purchased this to work in small spaces or small projects and not have to get out the bigger saws. It shuts down under load if you ask too much of it which can be annoying. Using it to cut siding nails when repairing siding you need to use a very fine blade or it can't keep going. I love it for what it is intended for. I have had the 12V drill and impact driver to go with this for a few years now and it is a great...

Good for certain tasks
Bought this for two tasks. For demoing kitchen cabinets worked marginally well. Actually worked better with metal flashing than wood, although I found that if you used a sawing motion it cut wood better. For cutting (not trimming) shrubs it worked well on branches up to about two inches and once again using a sawing motion facilitated the process. Ultimately I ended up using my corded Black and Decker Firestorm reciprocating saw. Battery life us also limited as one would expect from such a smal...
