Save Your Money ~ Don't Buy this Weed & Feed!

I used this 3 in 1 Weed and Feed last year in Early Fall, I followed the instructions and it worked nicely my lawn was green with little to no weeds. I bought it again in April l2026, followed instructions and my lawn turned yellow and dry patches. I even referred my dad to buy it for his lawn & he had the same issue.

3 - 1 Advanced Bayer (10,000) sq. ft.

People its time to clean the yards up as and bag all the dead grass etc., etc.,. The reason being seedlings etc., Put pre-emergent down this week, then the following week do Bayer 3 - 1. Then in another month repeat this process but you shouldn't have to re-scalp the yard. Latter March you can go with Scott weed and feed drought resistance, also it is a fertilizer that helps prevent a over use of using your sprinkler system. Follow the directions

I do find that following the directions helps. I have made all the mistakes along the way: applied too early or too late in spring, not watering in at 24 hours, reapplying after initial application, trust me on following the directions. Also make sure you get the right formula for your area and grasses.

Works on my Memphis lawn

Moisture Absorption Makes it Hard to Apply

The first time I applied this the Scott’s Mini Broadcast spreader did a good job. 6 months later I had trouble because the weed and feed had absorbed moisture making the granules sticky. I could not get the granules to flow nicely in the spreader. This is despite being very careful to close and tie the Bayer bag carefully to try to avoid this problem. We bought this a few months ago hoping to eradicate the dollar weed on our established St. Augustine lawn here in Florida. We typically have a very thick, green lawn. After what I just went through I better get the very best lawn in my neighborhood. First of all this has more stipulations for application over any product of its kind I have ever seen. OK weed and feed

Had to buy double what I needed to put down so that I could see the weed and feed work. It does not take care of all the plants it says but it does kill others. I have weeds still growing after a month from spreading the product. It is pet friendly and does not mess with allergies as far as I can tell.
