3M Wall Repair and Painting Essentials: Hand-Masker, Masking Film, ScotchBlue Painters Tape, and Color Changing Spackling Compound

Junk

Tape won’t stay in track. Rides up the plastic roll and comes off, then doesn’t dispense properly and rips everything. Spent 30 minutes trying to get it to work and have nothing to show for it, along with mangling much of my plastic. Rip off. And doesn’t come with the cutter attachment, even though step 1 of the instructions is to attach the blade. What a joke.

Not happy!

I purchased this M3000 dispenser to help in a large DIY paint job. I was excited to use this tool after watching some YouTube videos of others using it. After getting it, I found that I also needed to get the blade. No where on the packaging I have for it did it mention the blade was sold separately. After looking at other packaging of the same, the others did have blade sold separately in big red marking. Hunting then began for the blade and blade attachment. I found several replacement b...

Don't forget to buy a cutter as well

Picked this up in a hurry, and didn't realize the cutter is not included, which costs more than the dispenser itself, it works just fine, but I have an older cheaper one that works just as well for 60% less. Works better with paper masking than the plastic.

Tape comes off

Works well enough - one issue was that the tape would sometimes come off of the plastic and stop taping to the floor. Pretty easy to fix, but happened a few times which was annoying to re-set each time.

Does not come with all the parts you need!

It doesn't come with the attachment required to actually apply the film. The Lowe's in my city doesn't even carry the attachment. I feel super ripped off by this. I wasn't actually able to use it at all, which for me means it is a useless product.

Need more characters to write a real review

For as expensive as this thing is, you would think it would work better. The tape is constantly riding up and off the plastic. sometimes the tape grabs the back part of the plastic so when you pull to unfold it, you it rips everything down. using paper is ok.

Great for beginners

Ease of use for a first timmer

easy masking

I used to be a painting contractor, retired now. A while back I was working on a Victorian house in San Francisco with my son when he dropped my masker from about 40 feet up. Needless to say when it hit the concrete it shattered. When I saw the hand masker at Lowes I bought it, always need one for a project. So much easier to use the hand masker than to cut paper and tape it where needed. Masking is always needed some way or another, regardless if it's painting or just covering an area. Having t...

Good stuff

Hand masker works fast, smooth, clean finish nice.

Must Have!

I read some of the reviews and didnt want to waste any time or money, but with having a big painting project at home I decided to give it a try. It worked so well that I was mad at myself for not getting one earlier. Saved so much time! I have since used the plastic and paper applications with little issues. I did have some issues (when the paper or tape was near the end) keeping the tape on the paper but honestly, it was a very easy fix. If you are using a paint sprayer you have to get yourself...
