12-ft Brown Handrail with Oil Rubbed Bronze Handrail Brackets

Beautiful addition

I built a staircase in my cabin and I love the silhouette of this handrail. You will want to give it a fine grain sanding before you coat it. I love the wood grain so a light stain is all I'm going to do.

Check for defects

Bought 2 each 8 foot rails that appeared OK with the wrapping on. Left mostKen66 of the wrapping on during fitting and cutting. After all fitted found an imperfection in one of the finished pieces after wrapping was removed and prep to stain. Fortunately it was not too deep and I was able to sand it out. Just a reminder to examine carefully when purchasing. The defect was not easily visible with the wrapper in place.

Unfinished Wood Poplar Handrail

Candi (Customer Service) was wonderful. My husband walks with a cane and we would have a hard time getting it out of the store. Candi carried it out and helped us. There was a very tall man in the customer service area who offered no help. I am very thankful to Candi, more employees should be like her! You have a great employee, I would have never been able to pick it up and get it out. She should be commented! Five stars to CANDI!!!

Great price! Easy to stain, worked great for the railing we needed in our space

Delaminating Glue ups, Poor Quality

Not quality wood. It is made of 3 pieces bowed and glued together but completely delaminating. I would not recommend, I spent a few hours cutting and sanding it and wood gluing it back together. A big waste of time.

It's not hemlock... it's popler

I searched all over the Lowe's website to match wood types for railing parts as I'll making stage railings. I opted for hemlock newel posts and wanted hemlock railings. The description online says hemlock...L.J. Smiths website has hemlock...this product is poplar. It will not look as good with stain because poplar doesn't stain well given the large variations in wood color.
