DIY Outdoor Furniture
PieceofMineDesign from North Carolina went to Lowe’s looking for light bulbs and left with a DIY outdoor patio set. Using only cement blocks, 4x4s, and cushions, she created a U-shap lounge area. “It’s comfortable and beautiful with the all the textures -- wood, concrete and cloth. It’s way versatile when I change my mind. No rotting, no staining, and not one cut needed to make it work!” she says.
Backyard Fence Project
User Keith23 from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, needed a new fence to keep his beloved dachshunds in the backyard. This massive project took a month and a half and 14 trips to Lowe’s because his car only held 20 boards at a time! All in all, the fence has 29 8-foot sections. Each section required 15 decking boards. “We are done, and we are so proud! Thank you Lowe’s for helping us with this project!” he says.
With leftover 4 x 4s, user LuvLumber from Virginia created a dual planter. The DIYer used a half-lap joint to connect them, screw hooks for the plants, and two window boxes for roses.
User dfox5 from Gainesville, Georgia, bought a bunch of outdoor lumber from Lowe’s and went to work. He says the vertical posts have eight sides and that he created the top piece from a tiki torch and post cap.
Custom Compost Bins
User JStan created these side-by-side compost bins to manage yard waste. The bins have wooden slats instead of chicken wire for a cleaner look. The slats slide out for easy access.
