What Customers Are Saying

Customers remain divided on freezer bags. Many long-time users praise the double-line zip, stand-up design, and leak-proof sealing, noting they remain loyal to the brand. However, a substantial group reports severe quality decline, with bags frequently leaking during freezing and defrosting, tearing below the seal strip, and featuring thin, weak plastic. New opening tabs rip off easily, making bags difficult to open without damage. Several mention pre-existing holes and poor quality control. Despite these widespread concerns, many customers still consider them reliable for food storage and reuse, though frustration over recent changes is evident.

New perforations cause leaks!

I bought a new box of these freezer gallon baggies to put up green beans from our garden and to freeze blanched roma tomatoes until I had enough to make a large batch of sauce. As I thawed them today I discovered all 5 baggies were leaking!!! I don’t understand why the two rows of perforations are running across the bottom of every bag. That is where the bags leaked so I’m concerned air is also getting in!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

Freezer Gallon

I have used the freezer gallon bags for years and had no issues. The last box I bought, the bags are not sealing, very disappointed the bags are not cheap!

Slits in all bags

Would Not Recommend

I've just opened a second box of the Gallon Stay Open bags, and, as in the first box, all of the bags have slits across one side just above the logo. I have to tape them shut in order to use them. They are too expensive to just throw away.

Go back to original

Would Not Recommend

I have used Ziploc brand bags for years to freeze food in neat, even, flat stacks. Your standup design never lays quite flat and ruins the whole idea of flat, even, efficient storage of frozen food.

Very disappointing product (freezer bags)

Would Not Recommend

I’m very disappointed in the quality of these freezer bags. I actually had a stem from some fresh spinach penetrate a hole through one today causing the liquid to leak out terribly. I will not be purchasing these bags again. Please improve the thickness of these bags to securely work with freezer items.

Too thin!! If I can find a different manufacturer, I will never buy these bags again. Shame on Ziploc for this inferior product.

What gives (other than the opening?)!

Would Not Recommend

What has happened? Your bags, specifically, the expensive, freezer gallon bags, keep breaking at the seal. I’ve gone to open the bag and end up with a strip of the seal and a closed bag that then becomes nearly impossible to open. Why is this happening?

New stay open design

I bought these and I am very disappointed with the stay open design - it limits the amount you can put in the bag! Today I tried to put a steak in a quart bag for the freezer but the length was not there so had to use a gallon that ended up folding three times over the steak.

Stay-Open is awful

Would Not Recommend

I'm sure that they're the same volume for fluids or small bulk things like nuts, but if you're putting something large in the bags, all the Stay-Open does is make one of the dimensions about 20% smaller. Bring back the old design. For me, these effectively hold half what the old ones did. Unfortunately, all of the other brands have this same stupid design, too.

Not worth the money!!!

Would Not Recommend

I have always used Ziplock freezer bags because of the quality but with the new design the seams tear just trying to open them. At least 4-5 in every box. I am very disappointed in how poorly they are made now. I will be buying another brand.

Maybe we got a bad batch?

Would Recommend

We've always used this brand. We buy in bulk from the big box stores. We've always been very happy with this product and prefer the paying a little more for the name brand because of the quality and reliability of the product. Unfortunately, we must have got a bad batch because all the gallon freezer bags are very hard to open and when you finally get them to open, some of the blue line comes loose and the bags will not fully close. I understand a bad batch but that does speak to quality control...

Ziploc grip & seal Fall apart!

Would Not Recommend

Used the old freezers Ziploc for decades but now ziploc got greedy cheapened the zip lines so now it falls apart upon opening the bags and don't work or stay closed. Loosing food wastes your customers food. Its a disaster. And shady. These bags aren't cheap to buy just extremely cheap where use doesn't exist. Bye bye ziploc. If it wasn't broke why fix it Ziploc? So disappointing Ziploc is clearly no longer looking out for their customers base. Nothing but cooperate greed.

HATE the stand up bags.

Would Not Recommend

I keep looking for the original bags that do not stand up. I can't fit in as much in these short squatty bags. What I do with the larger ones (yes I know that they are both gallon sized), is put chicken breasts in them. Two or three to a bag that is flatter. They don't get squashed up. Also, this is a serious issue for my berry/veg freezer storage. What I do with fruit and veg is put them in baggies, then put those baggies into a freezer bag. I don't want a quart of whatever all at once, or if I...

Stay open bags are awful

Would Not Recommend

The stay open bags are awful especially whenever it comes to freezing things they have reduced the amount of plastic used and you may as well just go ahead and pour whatever you put in the bag all over yourself I have not pulled a single bag out of the freezer yet that has not been torn I have ended up with hamburger blood down my leg chicken blood pork the whole nine. Where the pleats are is so incredibly thin and I've even had the seam down the side of the bag bust they are incredibly poorly m...
