Ratings & Reviews for Zinsser BIN Interior Multi-purpose Shellac Wall and Ceiling Primer ( 1-gallon )
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this shellac-based primer for exceptional stain-blocking performance on water damage, smoke, pet odors, and pine knots, with rapid drying enabling quick recoating and efficient workflow. Many report complete opacity in a single coat even on heavily stained surfaces, and reviewers consistently rely on it for challenging applications like cabinet refinishing and damaged drywall where other primers failed. Strong adhesion to difficult substrates and reliable odor sealing earn it a "miracle" reputation. A few note the strong lingering odor requires ventilation, and some mention thin consistency benefits from foam rollers. Overall, most consider it the definitive primer for demanding projects.

Great stain blocker
