Works but is rusting inside

It works fine but the sound of the door closing is very loud and the ceiling has rusted in less than four years. We've had numerous microwave ovens since 1976 and we've never seen rust on the ceiling before.

Junk - rusted and stopped working

I have had multiple microwaves but never did any die or rust out so young at 5 years old. In fact, I have never had a microwave rust on me - that's just strange. Absolutely junk, do not buy. Now I'm stuck having to find something that fits my cabinet.

Kaboom!!!!

washing dishes and I was hearing a noise went to see where it was coming from, I thought it was from the fridge then I walked over to the microwave and took out what I was reheating. Disappointed with Whirlpool Quality and Reliabilit

Bought the Whirlpool WMC30516HZ microwave twice, and both units failed far sooner than they should have. The first unit developed a dead display. The replacement is now sparking and making abnormal noises, which is unacceptable for a basic countertop microwave. What makes this worse is that this microwave is hardly used — maybe 3–5 times per week, primarily to reheat leftovers or warm coffee. No heavy use, no abuse, no commercial setting. No MUTE feature

Can’t turn off tones / sounds. I want a MUTE option.

Doesn't last

I purchased this on 11/04/2023 and it stopped heating on 11/12/2025. That's barely two years old. I thought if I bought a name brand, Whirlpool in this case, and paid a little extra, I'd get a good value. Wrong. The door action is also very loud. It always sound like it slams even if you barely shut it. I would not purchase again.

Bad experience

I bought my new house on September 2022 and we use the microwave not too much, yesterday I tried to warm it up a soup and didn't work, so I decided to power off the microwave and wait for a couple of minutes to power on and started working again, today I tried the same but it doesn't work again, this is a really bad product and now I am worried about Whirlpool because all my appliances installed are Whirlpool. I don't recommend to buy this Whirlpool brand.

Poor product

This product was installed in my brand new house in 2022. Its a countertop model that builder used with a trim piece to look like a built in . First the clock stopped working. Then the “start “ button as well as a couple of numbers on the keypad. This microwave is Absolute garbage. We’ve used it maybe 20 times in total! Do better Whirlpool!

avoid if built in trim

This microwave came with the purchase of my home. Suddenly the turntable wont stop when the door is open! ive tried to replace it but Im unable to find one that fits the trim and cabinet made for it. This is ridiculous. I cannot find a whirlpool replacement!

Disappointed

We had this microwave for less than 6 months and it stop heating. Whirlpool is not what it used to be

Whirlpool Microwaves don’t last long

Built-in microwave Model #WMC30516HZ, is terrible. Lasted just over 2 years with mild use. Whirlpool trusts their manufacturing and provides warranty for their products for only 1 year. Microwaves used to last a decade. What happened?! This was a $660 purchase from Lowe’s, 2 years ago. I can’t even get another any more to fit the too-expensive plastic molded trim package.

Wrost microwave ever

So far 2 of these gone down in approx same amount of time. Feels like they are programmed to fails at exact same durations. Always the control panel stops working. Bought this second time because builder installed it over the oven. But not any more.

Avoid at all costs

We are going on our third replacement in 7 years. Steer clear from this microwave.
