It is brand new.

The "on" light never has come on, but it worked anyway, so we have been using it for 4 times. But then it quit. We plan to let Lowe's know, and will also see what Whirlpool says about it.

while the product is great , the person who was sent to load it into my truck was a tiny lady with a great personality, but to little to lift it into my truck. It should have been obvious that she couldn't do it by herself, and I could not help her. So we ended up waiting for someone else to come and help. Another tiny girl came and the both of them ended up getting it done. They were kind and wonderful, but Lowes should know the limitations of their employees when making assignments for the day...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second trash compactor I have bought. The first one quit working and the motor blew up. Replaced the motor and also the gear. Still did not work, so we decided to purchase a new one. Just hope the parts last longer than the old one did.

Excellent product. Size and dimensions were exactly as described and it fit, under counter, perfectly. Very pleased!

Don't want to give this review any Stars!

Ordered this online on Black Friday 2023. Finally delivered in mid January. Once the box was opened, it was discovered to be defective. After 2 visits from a service repair, it is still defective. Instead of replacing the whole unit, we are again are waiting on a new part. (Another 6 weeks) Can't really use it properly until it's fixed. Can't find this item in store, but will never order online with Lowe's again. Our last compactor was over 20 years old. This one is new and doesn't work. ...

Works great. Bad control pad

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great. Clips to hold bags are fantastic. Easy to get full bags out. Absolutely HATE the push button controls. Off centered or something. Very difficult to work. Would be a 5 star rating if not for the control pad

Poor Quality

Not recommended.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 5 months old and buttons are chipping off ALREADY. This was a real concern for me as my 1st Whirlpool trash compactor did this after 5 YEARS ,not 5 months. It is also noisy and does not have the ability to stay in the compact mode.

Whirlpool Pool Trash Compactor needs improvements

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this trash compactor two months ago. The unit does not open more than one inch when the pedal is pressed and has to be pulled out. Similarly, it does not close smoothly and has to be pushed hard to close it. The performance of this unit is inferior to the Kenmore trash compactor we previously had.

Built cheaper than older models

Do not like the power on, off or run buttons at all.

Control Difficult to Operate

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the trash compactor about 1 month ago and have trouble with the start button. It is very difficult to press to operate. My wife does not have the strength in her fingers to activate it.

Defective and doesnt work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was installed and doesnt work. Control panel is faulty and pushes way in when trying to push start button. Contacted installer. Gonna mark as defective and re order a new one.Paid over 1000 and waited a month to get then it doesnt work. Needs push buttons instead of a slick panel control.

It's okay, better than a trash can

I have been in my home for 22 years and this is my third compactor. Previous two were KitchenAid lasting about 10 years each. I purchased this Whirlpool because 1. Price 2. Limited selection for a black compactor 3. limited selection period (I guess Trash compactors aren't trendy anymore). After waiting about 6 weeks for it to arrive, we have had it two weeks now. Poorly made
