Ratings & Reviews for Westinghouse iGen2800c Recoil Start 2800 Starting / 2200 Running Watt Gasoline Single Fuel Inverter Generator

Great features

I bought this for the dual fuel capabilities. Runs great on propane and powers my 15 travel trailer with ease. With its 30 amp plug it’s easy and safe to run. Also nice to have the weight down to 42lbs for moving around.

The generator exceeded our expectations.

I purchased our Westinghouse iGen2200DFc recently. We are in the break in phase using propane. We are very pleased with the generator. It is lightweight and quiet. I am also pleased with the time meter and a long propane hose. Other companies propane hoses are shorter. We decided to buy a generator after we dealt with Hurricane Heleen that struck NW North Carolina. We were lucky. Only one tree fell on our roof, crashing through our roof, attic, and through the ceiling into our daughter's bedroom...

Easy to use

Easy to start, easy to learn how to use it and not very complicated. Easy to carry and did lots of research before buying and after a few hours use, believe i made the right choice.

SO FAR SO GOOD

I bought this to run a portable air conditioner in case of a power outage here in central Florida. Dual fuel, since propane lasts longer than gasoline. I do have gasoline that I treat and rotate regularly. It's good to have both options in case of a prolonged outage. Being an Inverter generator I can charge my battery backup system if the sun doesn't shine for a couple of days. Not likely here in Florida, but nice to have that option also. Unit was well packaged, easy to remove from the box and ...

Just brought it home for a long camping trip. Can't wait to use it!

Right Size

It runs quite, is light and includes a detailed users and parts manual.

Looks good

Just unboxing it today. Everything looks good so far!

I like it

Great so far. Still in the break in period, only have a couple of hours on it so far. Seems well made.

An Excellent Choice

It's a quality item. I bought it for its digital display which does not disappoint. It also has higher rated amperage receptacles than most competitors in the same size range and also has USB receptacles which are not too common. It runs very quiet and is extremely lightweight. I also liked that they stamped the side of the unit with its specifications. It's an excellent generator.

has problems

I purchased 1 unit in February 2026. Bought a backup in March 2026. Both units have failed, and Lowes would not help, and the manufacturer was not helpful. I'm out $1100. for 2 units, both made in Sep 25. I would not purchase

Great features

Recently purchased and is easy to start and complete the break in.

worked great....until it didn't

bought this generator to run my camper, when we got it we assembled it, added the oil, gave it a little gas(i only run non-ethanol) it ran great. never got to actually use it until late September, worked great for my camper on a 9 day camping trip, brought it home...used it 2 or 3 times to charge batteries on my antique tractors that are out of extension cord range. stored it for the winter, went to prep for a camping trip and it will not stay running once power is demanded....shuts right off......

Great value as compared to Honda

Purchase to run air conditioner when camping. Generator is amazing It starts on one pull and idle is very quietly and Eco mode and revs up as the load increases

Well designed

I bought this 3rd Westinghouse generator to charge my ecoflow power stations, It is doing well!

Lowes offers all types of generators

The generator is exactly the size, weight, and type I needed. The order process was quick and easy. The staff was friendly and the generator arrived three days early.

Gas regulator external is large
