That being said, this basic design goes back many decades, and this rendition is anything but durable (not durable). The cross or x shaped wire guard has an inadequate geometry or shape to stay put within the holes on the perimeter edge of the thin aluminum deflector. Used it to help warm the area where the neighborhood cats feed on my deck. Clamp is great. I used a hook as well, to hold the lamp steady and away from the wood siding because I was leery of leaving it on all night but the wood never got hot. As some noted, there is no switch but it is easy to plug and unplug.
