If hot wires are flip flopped it won’t work

Cool automatic timer switch
Would RecommendThis switch us cool! Can program two separate on/off cycles plus manually turn the switch on or off. Works great for us. Because this switch was in a box with three regular toggle switches I cut out the old faceplate with a Dremel tool and it looks good.

Does not work
Would Not RecommendSet it up as directed in the instruction. The device display lights up and sets the clock and on & off times, but does not turn on the porch lights. Tried to reset it as directed to defaults and then again. Same thing: lights do not turn up neither manually, nor do they turn on automatically at the set times. Defective as some other customers also described.
Compact In-wall timer
Would RecommendEasy install for single-pole lighting circuits. This unit is not compatible with 3-way and 4-way switch wiring installations. Although the Lowes website says it is compatible with 3-way, it is not. My garage lights have two 3-way and one 4-way toggle switch controls. There is no way to get this unit to work with that setup.

Would RecommendThis timer was installed to replace a photocell on a carport light. The photocell frustratingly would fail after a year or two. This time we are trying a different approach. The timer is working well, so far. The installation was straightforward and programming was a breeze. It is installed in a 4-gang switch box along with 3 other switches.
