Correct plug for 30 amp/240 volt drier.

It was what I needed to power up my new drier. It was very hard to manipulate the 10 gauge wire into the plug. Does it really need to have so little room in there to bend thick wires? I've been told they're all like this, but why?

Provided cable clamp does not cover entire opening

The cable clamp supplied with the unit for a top/bottom cable installation does not completely cover the opening and leaves a 1/2" gap which exposes wires and possibly hot plugs inside the unit.

Terminal came loose and shorted, melted the outlet

Within two years, one of the hot terminals decided suddenly to come loose on its own and shorted with ground inside the outlet. Luckily this didn't start a fire, but I was walking around for awhile trying to find the source of the burning plastic smell before I found this outlet half melted on the outside and black char covering the terminal in question inside. I'll be going with a different brand to replace this outlet.
