Ratings & Reviews for Trex 4-in x 4-in Charcoal Black Composite Deck post base trim

What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these post sleeves for their clean, finished appearance and seamless integration with composite deck systems. Most highlight how the two-piece snap design transforms posts into a polished, professional look that complements railing styles perfectly. Installation is consistently noted as easy and straightforward. However, several reviewers express confusion about sizing, clarifying the product fits 4.5-inch posts, not standard 4-inch posts, which caused some returns. A few mention the lightweight plastic construction and visible seam feel less premium than expected, though most accept these trade-offs for functionality. Overall, customers find the sleeves worthwhile for enhancing deck aesthetics.

I'm returning them
Would Not RecommendI just bought 8 of them to go around 4x4 sleeves. They are way too big and would look sloppy.

Look at Reviews before ordering
Would Not RecommendProduct clearly states they slide over the sleeves but they DO NOT. They come in two pieces that snap together. I was looking for the ones that are one piece so the description was not what was actually received. Lowes needs to update their description of this product

Miss leading description and images
Would Not RecommendDescription states slides over post and pictures show one piece, it doesn't state or show an image that its a two piece product. It came in 2 pieces that snap together and leave unsightly seams even customer service at the store stated it should be one piece that slides over the post. I had this item delivered but now i have to return it to the store to get my money back.

The only bad thing was that I received two notices that this order was ready for pickup when it wasn't received by the Lowe's store! I made a trio into Lowe's for nothing!
