What Customers Are Saying

Customers overwhelmingly praise this epoxy for its exceptional ability to penetrate and stabilize severely damaged wood, particularly in marine and outdoor applications. Reviewers consistently report that it soaks deeply into rotting areas, turning brittle wood into solid, durable surfaces with restored strength. Many appreciate the ease of mixing and application, plus the smooth, professional finish when topped with varnish. Most users report successful outcomes and express strong intent to repurchase. A small number experienced slow curing times or found instructions unclear, though these concerns represent a minor fraction of overall feedback.

Penetrating Epoxy

Would Recommend

Works very well for damaged/weathered wood. This soaks into the wood and prevents further weather damage. The only drawback is that it needs to be sanded or washed to remove the amine blush after it has cured so primers will bond to it.

Penetrating Epoxy sealer works quite well.

Fantastic! I was able to salvage seriously deteriorated lumber & restore to initial functionality. Syringe works well on horizontal surface....not so much on vertical. Brushes waste less material.

A Wood-Rescue Epoxy I've Relied On for Years

Would Recommend

I've used TotalBoat penetrating epoxy for years, so when a leak left some wall framing soft and punky, this is what I reached for instead of cutting the wood out. The penetrating epoxy is a true two-part solids epoxy: it wicks deep into damaged wood, cures hard, and turns spongy fiber back into something solid and sealed against moisture. The included syringes let you inject it into voids and end grain, and a small amount of acetone thins it for deeper penetration when a spot needs it. For mater...

Very easy to use and spread. A thin layer goes a long way. I found the pumps the best way to measure. Use it in small batches to go a long way. Easy mix and mixes well

Penetrating Epoxy in a Monterey Wood Boat.

Would Recommend

In 1998 I owned a rare 40ft Monterey Double ended Commercial Fishing Vessel . There was a Grounding Rod in my Rudder Block of the Vessel. It was built in 1918. So over the years it had turned to mush. I drove to Richmond to his facility. Talked to him and purchased Part A and Part B 5 gal each or the Penetrating epoxy. I planned to use it all over the boat. He told me to mix equal parts A and B wait a bit then I started pouring and mixing it. i had made a trough in the Keel Rudder Block which wa...

So-so Results

Epoxy (cold weather variety) was mixed according to directions and applied at 55F to plywood as instructed. Two coats applied to surfaces with three coats on the edges. It didn’t seem that the epoxy penetrated very much- it mostly just sat on the surface until it cured. It will work for my purposes, but the result was not what I expected. Not sure if the problem was the product or some unknown user error…..
