It's safe to use as it does not have components that snap back on your fingers or hands. As this was gifted to me, I cannot speak on its cost. It's a great choice for trapping mice. As well as for being difficult to use right out of the box, overall I do not recommend.

Easy set up but it is a live trap
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live on a farm so mouse traps are a necessity. These are extremely easy to install and are safe for other animals such as dogs who can smell the peanut butter. Not sure about effectiveness as I haven’t caught anything yet. I’m also not sure about live trapping and releasing because I really don’t want them to come back. These are not terrible but I’m not sure I would use them often.

Unusual design for a trap.

I have mixed feelings about this because I like the idea of it being a live trap so you can release the mouse out in the woods or something, but the trap itself seems unlikely to work well.
