The first one lasted about 10 years, and would have been just fine still, but, was hit by a 99 year old driver who was swatting at a wasp inside the car. He veered off the road a bit and hit the mailbox. The wood 4" x 4" mailbox pole was broke off right at ground level, and mailbox itself was in pieces. Love the mailbox, and bought a 2nd one to replace it.
