What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise this potting soil for delivering healthy plant growth and excellent value compared to premium alternatives. Many report thriving flowers and vegetables with visible improvements, and several highlight the built-in fertilizer as a key benefit. The large bag size at an affordable price makes it a popular choice for repeat purchases. However, some customers note inconsistent texture with excessive wood chips, twigs, and bark rather than fine soil. A few report receiving moldy or spoiled bags. Despite these concerns, most customers consider it a worthwhile, budget-friendly option for successful gardening.

Would RecommendI’ve tried a lot of potting mixes over the years, but Sta-Green Potting Mix is hands down the best I’ve ever used. I’ve been using it exclusively for the past 8 years, and I won’t switch to anything else. What impresses me most is how well it balances moisture. It keeps my plants hydrated without staying soggy, which has made a huge difference in the health of my flowers. Since I started using it, my flowers have grown up to three times larger, with stronger stems, fuller blooms, and healthier ...
Horrible
Would Not RecommendBought this brand instead of what I usually buy, Miracle Gro. I planted herbs in planter boxes like I have for the past 20 years. This mix has mulch mixed in which is fine. None of the herb plants have actually grown all that much. It’s like they’re stunted. I have 12 different herbs, none have grown well. They have been planted for 4 months so there should be more growth. I dumped out all the boxes and replanted the herbs in miracle gro mix

Terrible...
Would Not RecommendThis "soil" is absolute garbage. It is mulch like material. I did an experiment with my cherry tomatoes, one plant in sta green and one plant in miracle grow. they received the same fertilizer, water and sun, the results: MG plant green and healthy, sta green plant was stunted and a yellow/green!
I purchased a few weeks ago and it seems to be helping my poor flowers that I thought were dead.
There were some lumps of clay and bits of plastic trash in the bag.
