Would RecommendWe used brackets to make a stronger kayak rack. The conventional rack would just rust through after couple of seasons here in Florida. Hope these will last longer! We had to use an orbital grinder to reduce the 4x4 width all around by about 1/8 as the bracket was tad smaller when using fresh wood.

Would RecommendThis item is sturdy and does its job well. I mounted this to concrete with anchors and then placed my 4x4 post for a hand rail on a set of steps. It is very strong and didn't move after I tested its strength. The 4x4 did fit snug and I had to pound it in with a sledge hammer to get it to sink to the bottom of the bracket. I highly suggest this product if you need to mount a 4x4 so that it does not move.
