Not just for bases
We used brackets to make a stronger kayak rack. The conventional rack would just rust through after couple of seasons here in Florida. Hope these will last longer! We had to use an orbital grinder to reduce the 4x4 width all around by about 1/8 as the bracket was tad smaller when using fresh wood.

Easy to line up and sink into the concrete- so much easier than pouring new cement for my posts (for new stair railings)

A treated 4x4 needs a little smashing to get to the bottom, but that means it's a good fit. I would buy this again. I dislike that it's a bit expensive. But so would be the labor and pain of drilling and digging more holes.
