I followed the instructions exactly, but it poured too thick, so it did make for a perfectly flat surface (made a kind of wavy surface over the roughly 3' by 5' area, being out of flat by 1/8" in many places), even over this relatively small area. If I had a chance to do it again, I would have added a little more water than is recommended on the bag.
