DOA

Our Sharp drawer microwave was DOA and would not heat the food. It was extra tough to get it replaced because the issue was intermittent, so there was a random chance of it working when the technician came out. Took 4 months to get the brand new DOA microwave replaced.

Excellent Microwave!

This is the third one of these I've owned and they are fantastic appliances. They are rock solid and out of the way. Very easy to operate and we have had no issues with any of ours.

Better than expected

This microwave was better than I expected. Works great and easy to use. The flip down controls are a nice feature to keep the unit looking clean on your cabinets.

Touch screen stopped working within months

We’ve had the drawer microwave for a couple months now and it randomly stopped working. Went through all the troubleshooting and still can’t get the touch screen to work. Not happy…

Great option for undercounter

Convenient under cou ter option. A bit harder to clean and nearly impossible to watch for boilovers. Slow to open and close vs a conventional microwave door.

It's out of the way

Easy to use for the whole family. I love it out of the way and saves counter space. Easy for all my kids to use, my youngest is 6 and has no problem.

This product has been a bit of a lemon.

We purchased this product at the end of September 2023 for $1299.99. This microwave is in a household where only two senior citizens live, and it's only been used by adults. We are careful to use it correctly. In September 2025, the control panel stopped working. We went through Sharp to have the control panel replaced at a cost to us of $340. 2nd unit to spark -- unsafe

This is our second Sharp Drawer Microwave, both Model # SMD2470ASYA. First one made loud loud noises, sparked, and caught fire after a few years. 2nd unit just started making loud noises and sparked. Not using anymore. So disappointed in Sharp. It is out of warranty so no help is being offered. Disappointed Sharp is not more concerned about safety.

Microwave Island issues

The microwave is lower wattage then I am used to and takes too long to warm everything. Its also very annoying having to push the open and close button and wait for the door which is slow slow. There has to be a better way. Overall very disappointed in this purchase,

Love the Microwave

I only had this microwave 3 days ago. So far it is great! I love that I don’t have to bend over to see the controls or to put food in and take out. Heat distribution seems consistent.

Drawer Microwave

This style Microwave is extremely convenient and accessible. I find it easier to place and remove dishes without reaching up over my head, or reaching over my stove. Additionally, it is easier to lift heavy or hot dishes straight up and I have fewer spills. It has a clean look since it is integrated into my kitchen island and isn't noticeable unless the drawer is open.

Loving our Sharp

The drawer is so much simpler to use and I love that it is hidden. It is slow open and close which iIappreciate and easy to lift and lower items versus reaching into a higher placed unit.

Worth Every Penny – Sleek, Quiet, and So Convenien

Keypad failure epidemic

Had 3 keypad failures is 6 months in three separate microwave units. Had a unit that operated for 6 years without an issue but moved and have nothing but problems.

Great features

The drawer microwave was a great purchase, offering easy reach to grab hot dishes without having to reach over a counter, and it reduces the risk of spills compared with an over-the-oven microwave. Overall, it has been one of the best appliance choices we made during our kitchen remodel.

Loved it until drawer wouldn’t open

This microwave was part of a kitchen remodel and fit the space/purpose perfectly. I liked being able to carefully lift hot items out of the microwave at a lower level rather than reaching higher. Always a concern about accidentally spilling hot food on myself. Then the drawer would occasionally stick. Now it won’t open at all. Sharp Stainless steel microwave oven

This Sharp stainless steel drawer oven is beautiful in our new kitchen and a great choice for anyone looking to save counter space. Microwave UNDER not on the COUNTER

This is an amazing idea to clear up counter space. I’m not sure how they did to but it cooks very evenly without hot spots. Congratulations Sharp!
