Ratings & Reviews for Sharp 24-in 1.2-cu ft 950 -Watt Microwave Drawer ( Stainless Steel )
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the drawer-style design for its space-saving, ergonomic benefits and modern aesthetics, with many highlighting waist-level convenience and easy maintenance. However, a substantial portion report serious reliability concerns, including sparking, smoke, and fire hazards often occurring within 2-6 years, linked to magnetron or capacitor failures and referenced in a known class-action settlement. Several express frustration over post-warranty repair costs approaching new unit prices. Despite these significant safety issues, many customers still value the design innovation, though the reliability problems have eroded trust in the brand.

Would Not RecommendI installed this unit in my new home December 2017. Have had to replace door switches and magnetron. Most recently the wave guide caught fire and could have easily burnt down my home. Lucky I was close to the unit and was able to intervene. I came to find out that is is an ongoing issue with sharp and that there is a class action settlement concerning the wave guide arcing. Unfortunately, Sharp has decided to only replace the units with this obvious latent defect within 5 years of purchase....

Microwave not as pictured
Would Not RecommendSo when i saw the microwave on the website. There was a reflection on the glass of the microwave being outside in the 3D model view. I took my $1100 microwave outside and it proceeded not to work. This is a hoax of a microwave.

Chintzy Aluminum Handle
Would Not RecommendBought this model to replace a similar SHARP microwave drawer. In fact, it is identical except for the cheap-looking matte-finish aluminum handle. The appliance finish is described as stainless, which it is, but no mention of aluminum handle. Maybe a step up from the previous faux-stainless plastic handle but it doesn’t match. Fortunately, the microwave is on the backside of the island, so no one sees it but us. By the way, however, the previous one started making a melted plastic burn s...

Microwave
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a Sharp microwave... And I'm not kidding, my microwave is about 30 years old! Still looking and working perfectly. I'm attributing this to Sharps brand.

So far so good after 7 years
Would RecommendWe remodeled our kitchen and the designer recommended the drawer design. We’ve had several sharp microwaves and had good luck. I’ve used a majority of the functions. The reheat can get the food a little to hot but we’ve adapted and its really not an issue. Popcorn is great in this. Sharp makes quite a few other manufacturers microwaves!
