Ratings & Reviews for Scotts 50-ft x 4-ft Straw Seed Blanket

Excellent product! Helps growth, germination.

I bought this to help grow a muddy area where I had been building box steps out of a backyard exit on a hillside. I can't believe how fast and tall this helped my fresh grass to germinate and grow!! So very happy about this purchase and will buy again if I need to reseed an area again. Highly recommended!

Good so far

Bought and was delivered next morning. A little difficult to unwrap but used scissors and unwrapped fine. Took a minute to find the beginning end but unrolled just fine. Read the directions. Mesh side UP. Stays put after wetting. Will repost after results in a month. NOT biodegradable mesh so a lot,e concerned. Good value. Thin in some spots.

Not a great value for the high price!

For the price, it has not worked. I put it down 3 weeks ago, nothing. A total waste of money.

Pick a different product

The idea of this product is to create a barrier above your seeds so they can germinate underneath. The straw in this product is so thinly packed that you get no layer at all and just a sprinkle of straw around your seeds. In order for this product to do what it advertised, you would need to layer 2 rolls on top of each other. Then you would have adequate coverage. And if you think some sprinkles of straw is going to do anything for run off, i have a bridge I would like to sell you. I will go a d...

Terrible product

Purchased to cover grass seed from a pool project. pool is 32’ long with 4’ and 8’ deck. that’s 44’. The straw blanket was supposed to be 50’. It was short by 10’. I got ripped off

MUCH Better than Mulch.

I find spending thousands on mulch to see it dissapear by the same time next year is so infuriating. Is it getting up and walking away? This is wonderful!

Shipped me a product that was partially used!!!

Lowes processed refund, never received a credit on my card, my online acct show to expect a refund soon, it has been more than 30 days, still waiting!!! Terrible customer service!!!

Start off with salesman told me it was biodegradable not true it is all plastic not worth buying. After 3 months grass grew threw it. tried to remove netting. the plastic netting and plastic straw pulled up 40% of the grass I planted. Highly recommend DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT. It belongs trash

Steep hill

Put it on steep area and it held up and now it’s full grass great product

Poor quality

It appeared to be rewrapped. Very hard to get open and even worse to attempt to unroll. Hardly any straw on the mess net. Ended up in the trash.

I would not recognize this product because it was difficult to unroll and all the hay kept falling out. Not worth the money I paid for it.. I should have just. Light a bale of hay!!!

Gutter installation

I signed up for gutters to be installed. Salesman came out gave me a bid said they contact me for installation. It’s been over a week and have not been contacted yet.

Not Great

We laid this out in a part of our yard that gets muddy when it rains, hoping it would help the new grass grow. Instead, it got caught on our dog’s paw and dragged all over the yard.
