New scotts grass seed is now half filler.
New scotts seeds are all filler with half the seed. I have half an acre of lawn, been using scotts tall fescue for 10yrs. Recently they switched from having all seed in the bag to now half the amount of seed and the rest fertilizer (filler). Now my overseeding sucess is terrible. I just did a 500sq/ft section but required the whole 1750sq/ft bag to even see the seed and maybe 25% germination, terrible and expensive. Thick Green Grass
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally the grass seeds have germinated. What a look! I have thick lush green grass from these seeds. It took some time for all of the seeds to germinate because I have lots of trees in my yard. It tends to hold water when it rains and I water on a regular basis. However, I believe keeping the seeds moist, as directed on the bag, is key to the results I have.

Grew fast and tall

I used the seed on a Sunday and by the following week I already was getting small sprouts. In 4 weeks i reseeded and now its been 7 weeks and you can barely tell work had been done in that spot.

Fast Germination!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Scotts Tall Fescue Mix is a great combination of Fescue cultivars for the Transition Zone where I live. The bag contains both the seed and fertilizer which eliminates at least one of the steps (purchasing a separate starter fertilizer) when seeding. The seed germinated quickly as it was properly cared for with good seed bed preparation, seed to soil contact, and adequate water and sunlight.
