Second time it has been a failure.

I should have known better to purchase any Scotts lawn products as they have never done well. I patched sections of bare spots in the lawn with this product and another section using annual rye with a little back earth over the top. The rye seed and black earth did fantastic where the Scotts did next to nothing, An expensive product that performs poorly

Product worked well for me.

Lots of bad reviews, but i bought it and its working great. You have to spread it thick and shake the bag up to mix it. But all the spots i put have grass shooting up thick. I dont think it covers as far as they say though. I wish it wasnt so expensive, i need this for my entire yard.

Did nothing

We bought this product to fill in some bare patches on our lawn. We followed all of the directions and it's been 3 weeks and nothing. We added new topsoil and tried seeding again, still nothing. Very disappointed. This purchase was a fail.

Scotts has gone way downhill with this product!

Let me add to the poor reviews. This stuff is a joke. I followed all the instructions to a T. Shake the bag, spread evenly, water daily (or 2 times a day) and this barely grew anything. Some of the spots it grew NOTHING! I've used Scotts lawn patch years ago and it was a wonderful product. I suppose they caved to the environmentalists and used inferior "sustainable" ingredients such as that hideous shredded up newspaper they call mulch. Save your money.

Great Idea, Terrible Product

This appeared to be a good concept but the product has not delivered its claim of "start seeing growth in 7 days". I'll give it more time but initial results have been very disappointing. If things don't change soon I'll be extremely let down and will never buy this product again. At this point I give it a low rating and will not recommend Scott's PatchMaster to family or friends.

Disappointed One More Time

I tried a different repair mix and it failed, so I thought I would try this one. It too failed. No grass sprouted. I just had a bunch of brown mulchy stuff on my lawn.

Fast and Easy

I applied some in the late fall in upstate NY and it started growing almost immediately. Follow the instructions on the bag and you can easily fill in bare spots and will grow faster than just seed alone.

This stuff works great. Its a combo of seed, fertilizer, and paper to keep the seed wet. I find this works much better then the ez seed. This is my go-to for bare spots

Lots of crab grass and weeds

I am sorry I had to give it even one star! Premium seed my foot! What came up was a lot of crab grass like plants and weeds and a little nice grass! My lawn service took care of the weeds, but I had to get down on my knees to dig out all the crab grass. Now I will have to buy new seed to fill in the bare spots. It will definitely NOT be Scott's!

It turns to grass very quickly.Generally in about 7 days it's grassing. Just water .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this product for a little while and wanted to wait for the ground temperatures in the soil to warm up. I applied exactly how the bag said to do and watered it in afterwards and kept it moist for two weeks after in exactly 8 days I already had seedlings popping through the soil and we are now in the middle of July in New Jersey filled with humidity and heat, and the grass is holding up beautifully.
