Solid, dependable always gets the job done

This and the cheap washer are the old standby's that have one thing in common. NOT part of any giveaways, but the sensor dry on mine went out after 10 years. No problem, just use the timer drying and we are good but I was checking to see if these were still available so I'm here. They at their core have been around since time began and last forever. No bells and whistles plus no four digit price when you can get both for less than a thousand on a good sale day... Porcelain tubs, and they just ...

Urg

I haven't even had this for 6 months and my heating element went out.

Sucks 3 years later

Worked well for a few years, but the last year or so at least has not dried well and recently popped a belt.

Stopped heating after a year

I purchased this dryer for my parents a little over a year ago. The dryer has since stopped heating. I contacted Lowes and was informed that it would not be covered under warranty since the dryer was purchased over a year ago. This is incredibly disappointing since I was under the impression that Roper was a quality brand.

Roper Dryer

This is the worst dryer. I have to run the clothes through two drying cycles to get them dry.

Does not dry

Purchased a brand new Roper dryer from Lowes three months ago and am extremely disappointed. I have to run through two or three cycles before the clothes dry. I do small loads so that should not be the issue. My GE dryer lasted 25 years and dried clothes the first time around.

Worse quality appliance we’ve ever owned

We purchased this Roper dryer and like many other customer reviews, our dryer stopped heating after approximately one year! We replaced the thermal fuse and another small part when we learned that this is most commonly the cause. It didn’t solve the problem and we were afraid to risk buying another appliance from Lowe’s. We ended up buying a new dryer from another store.

Dryers last a year now?

My dryer died within a week of the one year purchase date. It will cost as much to repair as it will to replace. No more Whirlpool appliances for me.

Roper dryer is junk

I bought a roper washer and dryer set from Lowe's. Paid nearly 1,000 bucks. The washer works fine. The dryer was putting out heat, but, took three cycles to dry the clothes. The lint filter hardly has any lint in it even after running it for three cycles. Now, it doesn't heat anymore either. I checked the vent for clogs and it's clear. It's never worked right since they installed it. It seems like nowadays, even if you spend 3,000 dollars, you can't even find appliances that last more than a few...

Dryer won’t Dry

I purchased a Roper washer years ago and love it, so when my dryer went out I had no problem selecting Roper again. Well this dryer is awful. Purchased the first one and it was a dud...didn’t dry from the beginning. Lowe’s replaced and now the 2nd won’t dry anymore and it’s been less than 6 months.

Great American Made Value

We started to go with a upgraded unit but decided the 20+year old basic unit we were replacing had been great. So, we bought the basic to replace the basic. Many more cycles than the old one and should have fewer problems vs. the fancy upgraded units. Works great and a huge improvement in noise reduction and drying time! Thanks to Roper (think they’re all made by the same folks).

Easy to use

The dryer has been really easy to use. The controls are simple to understand. One con. There isn’t a alarm or beep when dryer stops. But I would still recommend it to others.
