Does not have twist lock mechanism

I bought this receptacle box to mount off my breaker box in my garage to plug a generator into. When tested, I was getting no power to the breaker box. After "jiggling" the female end of extension cable from the generator, I was then able to get power. Due to the extension cord being so heavy, the only way to make this work is to support the cable with something. Or mount it directly on the floor. It seems this receptacle does not have a "twist lock" mechanism. Or something is preventing it fro...

Excellent box to interface a generator to a power panel. Proper NEMA configuration. Factory cable for generator is a female termination. This is the "RIGHT" box.

great power inlet box

I purchased this box to provide power into my house from my generator in the event of an outage. I haven't used it in an actual outage yet how ever I can say that using my generators 30 amp outlet to this inlet box with a heavy duty extension cord is going to be much more convenient, and safer, then stringing together a bunch of smaller cords and running them through the house. installation was easy enough. there is enough room inside the box to allow the necessary connections to be made. the w...

we bought this item along with the Reliant generator transfer switch. Instructions especially the DVD were great the installation looks and works just as you would expect

Does The Job

I needed an inlet box to connect my generator to the transfer switch and this L14-30P inlet box was easy to install. The construction is fair, but nothing to write home about. Within minutes of taking the unit out of the plastic wrap the paint on the front corner of the box chipped off in my hand. I figured these were powder coated, but I guess not. Great generator inlet box

This is a sturdy, well constructed inlet box. I would also recommend purchasing the generator interlock kit for your circuit breaker panel. Doing so, will prevent the inlet box from being turned on unless the main circuit breaker is turned off.

Easy To Install

A quality product. A little pricey but I guess you get what you pay for. Thanks to those at Lowes who work in the electrical isle I was able to get all I needed to get the job done right. The job was to install an outside inlet box and hard wire it to double throw 30 amp each circuit breakers in the circuit breaker box on other side of the wall in the garage.
