No power

Replaced my old central vac with this and has no suction. Very weak unit. Wast of money! Like most products Lowes sells Junk.

Height of the mounting bracket may be different

I had to replace my central vac unit and chose this one to do it. It was an easy swap out with a few modifications to the piping and mounting bracket. The unit is quiet and the suction is good. I did not use the hepa filter or the muffler as it is vented outside. So far it seems to be a great choice.

Out with the old in with the new

Our house has central vacuum. The previous owners built in the system 30 plus years ago. The old system burnt out after giving many years of service. We were able to remove the old vacuum and simply reinstall the new one. Works like a charm. Hopefully it lasts another 30 years.

Used the Vacuum approximately 5 times before the relay burned out. Has great suction and easy installation. Just disappointed it barely lasted before experiencing a problem. I have reordered a new one to give it a second chance so we will see what happens. Review will change to all 5 stars if this one survives more than 5 uses.

Excellent Product and Support

I rarely write reviews but felt others should know what I discovered. Purchased at Lowes, I've been very happy with the appearance, practicality, and power of the Prolux. We used a Nutone central vac for 20 years and this unit is much more powerful. The icing on the cake was how well they handled a service issue. Almost 12 months after purchase, the circuit board malfunctioned (the unit's auto-shutoff stopped working). I emailed their Service dept, who provided a UPS return tag for the cost to s...

UNDERPOWERED

Purchased to replace a unit that was rated at 50 cfm lower than this one...this one has LESS power than the old one. Wont even turn the power head with a hose directly connected to the unit. What a shame

It was an easy replacement for the unit that we previously had and it is quieter. Ordering it and having it delivered to our local Lowes was also very easy and convenient.

Yes we like it very much. We have only used it a couple of times so far. Much better than the 30 year old one we replaced.

Great product

It was easy to install, and I took advantage of the existing pipes. The suction power is very good. I was impressed by how quiet it runs. In my setup, the manual switch to activate the garage mode is a little bit difficult to access. I’d wish to have it at the front of the unit

Happy vacuuming

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got my cv12000 really quick from ordering on the website, easy setup, just follow the instructions. Love that I can vent to the exterior since my wife has allergies and this will definitely help alleviate symptoms. We have cats and the nozzle kit works great for all the hair they leave around. The unit is in the basement and the extra port enables me to tidy up down there, don't drag as much stuff upstairs.

I use in my shop to pre vacuum expensive wool and persian area rugs. I love the machine. It is much quieter than I expected and has a excellent suction. With the 35' hose reaches anywhere I need and the large bin doesn't have to be emptied after every job.

Very Powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this about a month ago and I am very happy with my purchase. Installation was pretty easy since I was just replacing my old unit. I just had a little bit of trouble finding the right reducer pipe to connect to my existing pipes since the size of the central vacuum pipe is not very common so I ended up putting a seal around the reducer which worked great. Also, I had to buy the disconnects wire connectors for the low voltage wiring to atta...

Just what I wrote above.

The Prolux was easy to install and has plenty of power. One difficulty was that I needed 3 pieces (about 4" each) of PVC to connect to my system, but the product came with only 2. I used one to connect the exhaust (necessary) and one to connect to the house piping (necessary). That left me with no connector to put the cap on to close off the extra intake, so I went to the hardware strore and found a small piece of PVC that did the job.

Nutone replacement

Arrived in 3 days. Very well packaged for transport in perfect condition. Installation was straightforward. Piping modifications to new unit we’re east to accomplish. It would be a good idea to order or obtain a couple of elbows, piping and couplers to allow you to modified your connection to the new unit. Hopefully this will last 24 years like our previous vacuum did.
