What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this tarp's durability, thickness, and heavy-duty construction, with most noting it significantly outlasts cheaper alternatives and withstands extreme weather and demanding conditions. Many highlight sturdy, well-positioned grommets and robust corner reinforcements that prevent tearing. The large size is consistently praised for versatility across applications. Some report grommet failures under high stress or deterioration from prolonged sun exposure, though most attribute these issues to improper installation or extreme conditions rather than product flaws. Overall, reviewers consider it a reliable, long-lasting investment.

Heavy,thick covering
Would RecommendUsed this tarp as a temporary fix for a roof leaking because of severe ice dams. Worked out well. Threw ropes over the hose and tied to the tarp and pulled it into position. Tied off in the back with rope and weighted down the front with 2x4 boards.

Cheap tarp
Would Not RecommendIf you want a tarp to last more than one season, then spend the extra money and buy a decent product. This particular tarp just doesn’t add up. It rips easily despite the reinforced corner grommets. I ended up having to go back to Lowe’s to buy a better tarp. Wasted my time, gas, and money on this cheap one. Ripped in minutes.

Poor workmanship
Would Not RecommendI can only surmise that EVERYTHING made by Blue Hawk is just as poorly made. That being said, your decisions on wjat to buy or not buy just became easier.

Winter Dock Storage Cover
Would RecommendI used this tarp for covering my aluminum frame and vinyl panel dock during the winter. The size and thickness (10ml) was perfect for this purpose.

20 x 30 tarp
Would Not Recommendthis tarp failed horribly in a short time , used it to recover cover my portable garage which is 20 years old and have recovered it about 4 times with different tarps and most have lasted a few years without breaking down , this one completely weathered and shredded apart in eight months, cost $100 did try to check specs. on it and could not find how many mils. ...thickness. did just pickup their competitors same size tarp $107 (which looks identical) at least they list on package the mils ...
Poor grommets do not hold up to wind.
Would Not RecommendBought this to replace year old Blue Hawk 20x30 tarp. This one is much weaker and poorly made. Alum grommets are like soda can tabs, tear out easily.
Protected my trailer for 6 months
Would RecommendWe live above the snow line and had three snowstorms of 10" or more this year. Plus lots of rain recently. When it wasn't keeping the water out, it was baking in the mountain sun. And yes, after six months, I need another one. And I'll get it today. $100 is expensive, but repairing water damage to the birch woodwork in my old trailer would have cost MUCH MORE.
Expensive and lasted only 3 months
Would Not RecommendI re-roofed my house and needed a tarp for 6 months. This silver coating degraded quickly and it fell apart after 3 months, many areas of the silver wore off and became extremely brittle. As soon as the silver wears off it is not water resistant. It should be noted on the package, "not for outdoor usage".
Blue Hawk Tarp
Would RecommendExcellent value for the money. Especially strong for how light the tarp is!

Works great indoors!
Would Not RecommendI bought this to keep hay dry in winter. In just one winter (less than six months) it was so weak it just shredded like tissue paper. So I'd say it would probably be great in an indoor application where it's not exposed to rain, wind, or sun. I'm including a picture after gathering up all the shreds after its second winter out, where I had moved it to something less important than hay.
