economical lighting

Installed this light in a closet for my Mom. Had no power switch so this pull chain worked great. Mom is happy.

retro light fixture

Works OK where a switch is not wired in to a wall. The switch breaks easily on this, so you have to be careful and pull it from the side if possible. This is the third one we have purchased in three years. There are not many to choose from, so we get this one because the rest of the fixture is sturdy. The glass is thick and substantial. Would totally recommend this if the switch was better.

Quick, easy light replacement

This light was used as a replacement for the same light installed two years ago. It's light weight and easy to surface mount, well made for the price (but the kids CANNOT swing on the pull cord). An excellent choice for a surface mount light.

Simple but good

Bought this because where i was putting it had no wall switch. The pull chain was just what i needed. Nothing fancy. Easy to install.

Big light for a short Lady

I bought this fixture to replace the light over the kitchen sink which was placed in a remodel job years ago by a really tall electrician.. This light has a chain and my short wife can now reach it. Yippee. She loves it and no longer uses a wooden spoon to turn a light on an off.

Raises the ceiling

Inexpensive and easy to install is only the beginning. This critter is a full six inches less vertical profile than what I replaced with it. That means I have six inches more room for tall things when moving stuff around! Wish I had done this long ago.

Good Basic Light

Would be great for utility room or closet. Easy to install and has pull-cord switch. I just wired the light to existing overhead light, turned it on with pull string and cut off string so only needed to use wall switch to control.

great for rental

I purchased this for a rental house and this is perfect. Not high quality, but didn't buy for that reason.

Simple

I do not know why I did not replace the florescent light in the laundry room years ago with this light! I always have trouble with florescent due to humidity in the laundry room. This was a simple $10 fix that has made my life so much simpler and throws as much light with one bulb as did the two bulb florescent!! Simple with a pull chain, just like Grandma used to have!! Simple install, but don't forget if you need one to pick up a round ceiling light box with the tabs for simple installation! R...

White ceiling light

This light is easy to do install in a tight place. I would recommend this light for it's look and ease of installation.

Find another way to light your space

I needed to replace two of these fixtures in the basement, and these matched the design of the others already in place. I was disappointed that the quality was lacking from the older ones that still worked. The on/off toggle is temperamental, sometimes needing a couple of pulls to operate the light. They also are dimmer that the others. These were the only ceiling hugging options without retiring the basement, so I was was stuck.

Light assembly was easy to install, with all the directions. Had no problem installing light.

You get what you pay for!

Everything we purchased for our whole house re-wire was excellent, except for this lamp. The lamp is fine, but the pull string only worked once on one of the two lights of this model that we purchased. We now must uninstall these closet lights and replace with something a little sturdier.

Bright light

The light installed easily in place of precious worn out light. The only thing MFG did not have enough of was insulation. Not enough insulation around edges and wiring. Light still works great and gives out plenty of light.

inexpensive and functional

We needed this to replace an old light we had over our kitchen sink. After a couple of days the thing which holds the pull cord out from the light broke. It is made of plastic. We returned it and got another one and we are careful to pull on the cord to the side instead of down. We've had it for a few weeks now and it hasn't broke. We have a house built in the 60's. It was inexpensive, and it looks good (better than what we had) and it works just fine.

These are a good economical upgrade for older homes with the open porcelain lamp holders that are dangerous and do not meet current code.
