What Customers Are Saying
This box cutter is a versatile and high-quality tool that offers good value. It has a unique design with an aluminum shell and adjustable resistance tab, making it more reliable and safer to use than traditional folded metal cutters. The product is lightweight and compact, yet durable and sharp enough to handle various cutting tasks. It comes with multiple replacement blades, providing excellent bang for your buck. While a few reviewers noted the blade can be difficult to open and close, and the construction may not be as sturdy as more expensive utility knives, most found it to be a great basic box cutter that performs well for the low price point.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews.Blades are good, box cutter itself not so much
Would Not RecommendThe blades are great; sharp, well-honed, and do the job. The box cutter that holds the blade is badly designed. Instead of being a solid piece of metal behind where the razor blade goes, it is two pieces of metal folded together. When you get to cutting, especially if it's a heavy duty box, the razor blade shoves back between the two pieces of metal and you lose your blade surface and are no longer able to pull the box cutter apart to reposition the razor blade where it should be. I ended up thr...
Value purchase
Would RecommendTruth be told, it was less expensive to buy two of these packs than to buy a 10-pack of replacement blades only, which is what I sought. Blades are fine; never hurts to have an extra cutter or two on hand.

Great product
Would RecommendThe price. The extra blades. Best for anyone that needs a box opener !!
must have!
Would Recommendsize is handy and blade slides in easily for safety
AMAZING CUTTING TECHNOLOGY!!
Would RecommendThis knife is hands down the most powerful tool Project Source has produced in decades. I was able to cut through a solid cast iron shower drain P trap like it was room temperature butter. Forget those expensive Plasma cutters this little beast is a cut above the rest. 98¢ of pure brutal destructive force.
Great knife
Would RecommendMuch sharper than a regular utility blade since it uses 'real' razors. And the reviewer who complained about how difficult it is to slide the blade in and out was incorrect. It's not supposed to be 'easy' to open the blade because you really don't want these accidentally sliding open when you don't want to. These are incredibly amazing to cut whatever you need, including opening and breaking down boxes. Real razor blades are incredibly sharp so you have to be careful with this.
Great box cutter!
Would RecommendThese small box cutters are getting harder and harder to find. They are so handy to have, I keep them throughout the house, in the car and one in my purse. They work wonderfully and you cannot beat the great price!
Great Value!!
Would RecommendI purchased this box cutter because I lost the one I had prior with a similar design. I preferred this style over larger name brand models for its slimline, lightweight and ease of use design. For the price of the cutter and 6 blades, I probably wont mind if I lose this one in the future. Cant go wrong at the price they sell them at!
Difficult to slide up
Would Not RecommendI was looking for a box cutter for work and saw this was only 98 cents. You get what you pay for. The red handle really caught my attention and it came with 6 blades, if you count the one in the handle already. The blades work fine and cut well. However, it is really difficult to slide the blade up to use and especially to hide the blade.
Not Your Usual Box/Carton Cutter
Would RecommendFirst I want to give Lowe's kudos for carrying such a low cost, low profit, but highly popular and convenient tool. Very few places that sell tools have these anymore. Only the higher cost sliding Utility Knives advertized as Box Cutter. They are not. This box cutter is unique in that it uses a complete aluminum shell, instead of a folded up piece of steel, making it lighter nicer. Comes in colors. Secondly, it provides a permanent pull/position resistance tab stamped into the blade carrier, in...
