Good but not great.

I'd bought these in-store, but needed another set & wanted to save shipping costs so ordered online. I have the correct track, but these do not slip easily into the slots. The ones I bought in-store didn't either, but when I got these, I pounded both sets into the slots with a rubber mallet. They still don't fit completely, and the shelves are slightly wonky as a result. It's ok, but I'm a perfectionist.

The can be used for in or out door storage.

I used these brackets with light weight items and the single rail guides. Great storage and space saver.

Shelf Bracket

It fits, it is nicely painted and does what it is supposed to do. Lowes has it for a good price and readily available.

Good, if we could only get the 8 inch supports; Lowes Kennesaw was out of stock for weeks. Not very happy with this!

These are great for creating my model train shelving..I cut them down to 51/2 inches with vise and large metal cutter

Great for an inexpensive shelving solution

My wife asked me to install some additional shelves in the pantry. I bought 6 of these so I could install three shelves, along with the matching rail which I tested at the store to make sure it was the right size. Took them home, and in 15 minutes had the project all done. Being a bit of a DIY guy, I already had screws and boards to use. The brackets don't fit fully in the rail at first, but a little pressure on the shelf and they slid into place and locked firmly. The label wouldn't come off...

UPC label hard to remove

I spent over three hours removing the UPC labels from nine brackets. I had to soak them in soapy water and use Goo Gone with much scrubbing to clean the brackets. Note, the labels on the mounting rails came off easily. No screws (or recommend sizes) provided with the rails. Don’t forget to use hammer (or rubber mallet) to lock brackets to the rails.

Would Buy Again and did

First off this product is under the name Blue Hawk and it is not 21/2 long it's 8 1/2. Finely checked the item and model # on all the boxes and there it was. I bought it even though i didn't know if the length would fit. It did fit what i was working on. another review complained that when the bracket was put in the chanels it swayed it does but a light tap with a rubber hammer and it fits perfect. Avoid if possible

Problems (and these apply to the mounting rails as well as the shelf brackets made by Blue Hawk): (1) Mfr labels cannot be easily removed without damaging paint. (2) Brackets cannot be inserted fully into vertical rail slots without considerable filing with a suitably thin hobby type flat file. (3) Lowes does not stock suitable Mfr hardware packs for mounting the rails - you have to separately purchase (in other depts) #6 x 2" flat headed screws and wall anchors (I chose the screws by Hillman an...

Hard to get the UPC Labels off

Very hard to get the manufacturer's label off the item. Had to scratch and use lighter fluid to get it off. Stupid

Adhesive label difficult to remove

Very difficult to remove the adhesive label. This added significantly to the installation time. I soaked in water, scrapped, and used a spray lubricant because the solvent in it will dissolve the adhesive glue. The solvent did not damage the surface paint. I believe there is a commercial product to remove the store label, but it still adds extra time to what should be a quick job.

Doesn't fit standard verticals

The tabs on the back of the bracket look like they will fit standard verticals but they don't. They're too tall for the slots in normal standards. I was annoyed enough to return them, but it's a long trip to the store, so I got out the Dremel and made them fit.

No Fault of the Product

The product was well designed and of very good quality. Rating was a bit low because the purchase was made to go with a set of older shelf brackets of a slightly different design. Used as intended this product would rate very well. My needs required it to be substantially altered therefore reviewing it accurately is difficult.

Very easy to install.

Very strong and stable. Easy to install. Plan on using more of these in the future.
