What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these shelf standards for exceptional durability, ease of installation, and cost-effectiveness. Reviewers consistently describe them as sturdy and well-made, ideal for custom shelving in cabinets and bookcases. Many appreciate the adjustable slot spacing, low-profile design, and pre-finished white coating that eliminates painting. Installation is quick with basic tools, and customers frequently use them for professional-looking projects. A few note adhesive labels are difficult to remove without damaging the finish, and some report occasional slot misalignment or bent strips upon arrival. Overall, most customers consider them an excellent, reliable choice for adjustable shelving solutions.

Would Not RecommendPurchased 12 of these shelf standards for a built in bookcase. Discovered after installation that the slots in some of the brackets are punched incorrectly resulting in the shelves not being level after installation. This is not an installation error. The slots do not line up. At the price being charged, a little more quality control is needed. Did not return them because they were already installed when the problem was discovered. The only alternative was to shim about 1/8”+ under one end...

Would Not Recommendthe shipper brought it opened and bent... if you want pictures we can send them to you ......
I would buy this again.
Would RecommendThe product is great but I had trouble finding it due to the odd name (Pilaster Strip). In my DIY mind they are shelf standards.

Shelving Pilasters worked well so far.
Would RecommendThese six foot tall shelving brackets have worked well so far. I screwed them into "one by" pine boards (1" x 10" x 6') . Our shelves were only about 10 inches wide -- making use of an out-of-the-way place in our kitchen. I believe you can make "channels" or "grooves" for them to lay in, but I don't have a router, so I just surface-mounted them. I used 11 or 12 small screws in each pilaster, approximately one screw every six inches of height. I bought these screws at Lowes: Hillman #4 x 3/4...
Great product for the handyman
Would RecommendFor those that want wooden adjustable shelving you can not beat these metal pilasters. Using two by 8 thru two by twelve lumber you can make unbeatable shelving using these strips. A dado blade or router makes for short work in inserting these to make your adjustable shelf.

Excellent for Custom Storage
Would RecommendExactly what I needed to complete my under-the-workbench storage selves project. Pilaster strips were easily cut to tailored lengths to support an adjustable shelf for tools and parts in my workshop. Cost effective storage solution.
Slots don’t line up
Would Not RecommendOn the surface it looks like a good product. However, given these are meant for supporting shelves and given shelves are ideally level, this product will drive you crazy until you realize that for more than 2 foot sections, the slots will begin to shift and hence not line up. I bought 6 and will have to cut them in pieces to make them work. Great job on your quality control !
Buyer Beware
Would Not RecommendBought 4 and all were mismanufactured so the layout of the slots was off by a good 3/16" , no matter how I tried to get the 40" I needed to line up up there were too many irregularities in slot spacing ,see pics, made sure to mark them defective so they just don't go back on the rack to mess up an unaware persons job. now out to another store trying to find a good batch, $50 of running around for $12 worth of product.
Cost effective shelving
Would RecommendI needed to add shelves inside a safe to organize and hold more items. I screwed these strips into 3/4" MDF boards and cut shelves to fit. Worked out great. These do exactly what you are supposed to do. Inexpensive compared to other solutions for shelving.

Shelving Strip
Would RecommendCut easily with hack saw. Lots of numbers along the way to help with leveling & placing clips. Perfect for my builtins!
No brass, just brass colored
Would RecommendThe title is fraudulently misleading. It should be called brass colored. The label that is put on is impossible to remove. In fact, soaking in hot water for an hour caused the screw holes to rust. If you need the full 72" perhaps your technique to remove the label is better than mine...
