Maximize your closet space with hanger/shelf combo

With these brackets I was able to build a 12' close hanger in a walk in closet. The brackets were easy to use with the key slot upper mounting hole (hint: mark and partially install upper screw first) the second hole holds the bracket in place. I used wooden dowls for the rod. This bracket has an additional hole in the hanger that allows for a small screw to hold the rod in place. Installed in my out door shed

It looks good in my outdoor shed as I needed shelf space to put small items on also I purchase a 1x12x8 wood shelving , another Lowes project well done . M. J.

Sturdy bracket.

Sturdy bracket but make sure that you are tapping into terra firma 2x4. The first one I installed I used a screw in type fastener and it held for months. Now I have a hole to fill. What was I thinking? Too much confidence.

Works as advertised

Replaced several in the home and these are a lot more sturdy than what came in the house. Good product and easy to install.

Strong closet rack

This is a pretty strong closet rod support. You must be sure the screws are anchored into studs on the walls or joists in the ceiling. If no studs or joists are in the best locations, then attach a backer board that will reach the studs/joists and screw the rack to the backer board. My only complaint is that the screws at each end are impossible to drive straight because the angle support gets in the way. The screws must go in at an angle. I have some other supports whose design do not have this...

Misses the mark on design

The horizontal bar needs to be further above the rod receptacle ... the bracket as designed does not allow for adequate space between the rod receptacle and the shelf above.
