Would RecommendGood quality construction with nice switch mechanism, solid screw terminals and a good strain relief system. I would definitely buy this again as it is a good value. You should have some basic electrical experience before using this, I feel. The instructions are very poor and there are some fairly precise measurements to be made. Supports 18 AWG cord
Would RecommendWe needed to replace a switch that got shattered by energetic grandchildren. We didn't realize that the cord was thicker than regular lamp cords (which I think are mostly 16 AWG) thus the rotary type wheel switch that we originally took home didn't work. Went back to store and a fantastic employee ('Ernie' at Cary NC store) took us to this switch. This worked like a charm.
I had 2 lamps that I loved, but the switches didn't work any longer. With this switch I am able to keep the lamps. Downside there aren't any instructions in the package. So I had to go to internet to instal the switch.
Disappointing quality
Would Not RecommendAssembled the project and on the first use of it, I dropped the switch on the floor and it shattered. Using plenty of electrical tape to put it back together it still functions fine but kind of disappointing.
Staff is very helpful and the store it neat and clean!
