What Customers Are Saying
The mulch product provides good color and helps control weeds, but some customers reported it did not effectively prevent weeds as advertised. There were also quality issues, such as large wood pieces and faded color over time. The product's performance and value seem to be mixed, with some finding it effective and others disappointed.

Would Not RecommendI am extremely disappointed with this order. I specifically purchased 15 bags of premium black mulch, but instead I received 11 bags of plain wood chips. Not only was the quantity wrong, but the product itself was completely different from what I paid for. To make matters worse, I had a worker at my home who was already paid and prepared to lay the mulch. Because of this mistake, I had to reschedule the work and pay for a wasted visit, which cost me additional time and money. This experience w...

Bags full of unpulverized wood
I purchase approximately 12-14 bags of Preen black mulch every year—for the color and the added weed prevention. I was greatly disappointed this year at how much big wood pieces—not very aesthetic in a garden and side of front door scape, were in at least half the bags. These big pieces had to be discarded. Since the bags of mulch are based on weight, and full large pieces of wood weigh more than mulch, Preen really put one over on me this season.

Got what I asked for
Would Recommendgreat product
Would Recommendtwo items in one
outstanding mulch
Would RecommendThis mulch kills weeds in your bed plus does not allow other weeds to grow for at least 6 months and the color last all year if it is put down as instructed.
Order more than you think you need!
Would RecommendI'd prefer a finer shred, but it covers reasonably well, and it's a good price.
where[is the Weed control?????
Would Not RecommendWe have been buying this product for many years, with great satisfaction (minimal weeds). However, this year it looks like a "weed farm" in the flower beds. It's disappointing that we spent extra for this product and to not get the weed control we were expecting.
