Leaking after 6 months of use

Do not buy this machine if you drink coffee every single day. I purchased two machines—one for myself and one for my mother—and both began leaking after about six months of use. What a disappointment. There is no way to fix this issue because this product is not on the supported items list.

Great, but only lasted 6 months

It was a great little machine until it wasnt. Only lasted about 6 months and seems like the grinder just stopped working. It still brews but its hot water and doesnt grind the beans anymore. Tbh I expected alot from this little machine, and while it did work it was great. But with no longevity I am going to have to buy a different brand/product. I am going to try the warranty route and see how that goes, will update once I get a response on that.

It's been about two years since I bought it, but I use it alone and use it two or three times a month. However, steam is already generated in the portafilter and water is leaking when extracting coffee. Also, when coffee extraction is finished, the coffee powder should be in a clump in the portafilter, but it is full of water. At first, I thought the portafilter was defective and tried to buy it, but they don't sell just the portafilter. If only the filter is broken, I have to buy the entire cof...

Espresso is NOT hot at all.

I was so excited to get this machine to replace my Keurig, but now I am thoroughly disappointed. While it works at grinding and brewing, the water is not hot at all. It is lukewarm at best. The water out of my kitchen faucet is hotter than the water from the machine. My old Keurig had hotter water as well, so hot that I had to wait a few minutes to sip it. grinder holder and grinding volume is bad

i just bought it and it is already not grinding well. even it is on its position the filter holder etc etc....

Waste of money

I am so frustrated with this machine. While the power still turns on fine, the actual performance has completely failed after only 4 months. It has become a total mess to use. The grinder barely puts out enough coffee for a shot, and when I try to brew, it leaks all through the portafilter. The worst part is the 'soupy' mess it leaves behind; there is more water left sitting in the portafilter than there is espresso in my cup.

Great machine for the price

Easy to set up and even easier to use. Better yet, it is fairly quiet compared to other models.

Perfect if?

I'm a coffee lover, just bought the machine on Black Friday offers . I like the machine simplicity, hope Philips will add just 2 upgrades - Double shot Espresso - App functionality ( can you app to automade my coffee remotely ) - optional ( new machine colors , like : Red , Pink , Green , Blue )

waste of money

worked fine for 2 months, then after that, it doesn't grind enough coffee, and leaving water in the portafilter, more water than the espresso cup itself. I should have believed the reviews I read before buying. It is a piece of junk, do not buy.

Broken after 4 months

This machine was great while it lasted, but it broke after only 4 months. After reading other reviews, it appears to be very common. I tried to submit a warranty claim and the website says this product is an exclusion and has “no solutions”…extremely disappointing to say the least. No more Phillips products for me.

Philips Portafilter malfunction

I have purchased Philips Baristina 2 months ago and have been using it to make 1-2 cups of coffee a day for myself . Now, the portafilter is not filly drained and filled with coffee and water at the end of coffee making process. This is so frustrating and disappointing when the quality of the product is so poor comparing to the the price you pay.

Great espresso in one swipe - is literally right

Great espresso and super easy to use. Sleek design and sustainable product features. I wish certain parts or all metal but I understand the price point doesn’t allow for it to have those metal components.

Not Espresso

This is not espresso, it is not tamped. No matter if you hit the boost button or not, it is just coffee.

I love it!

I absolutely love this machine. It’s simple and easy to use but the coffee is legit. I had a friend come over right after I made a cup of coffee and she told me that my house smelled like a coffee shop. I also purchased the frother and I’m obsessed with that as well. If not only whips your cream, but it warms it up at the same time and it’s very quiet. Needless to say, I love everything!

Good coffee, some minor issues

I've been using this machine since January 2025, it makes good coffee. It's easy to operate and to clean. It has a few negative issues: grinds build up and fall into the cup and all over the counter. To avoid this I thoroughly clean out the portafilter after each use, (just dumping the puck isn't good enough) and I wipe underneath the left side where the water flows thru the portafilter. There is a design flaw: if you want to use a regular size cup you must remove the elevated drip tray and bala...

Don’t do it!

I should have listened to other reviewers who said it would work well for a couple of months and then fail. It started to leak and had to return. The return process has not been easy. I had to upload videos of it malfunctioning and then spend hours on the phone with people I could barely understand. Still waiting on refund. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more for a better machine.

Love the simplicity

I've been using the Barista for 3 weeks(received as a gift). It's so simple no messy cleanup and fast. It changed my morning coffee ritual.
