I researched carefully and chose the Pergo DuraCraft RE because it claimed to be 100% waterproof with a strong wear layer, so I wouldn’t have to worry about spills or everyday life. This is the floor my newborn is going to learn to walk on and the one I planned to raise my kids on, so durability mattered a lot to me. New Rustic Oak Floor
Would RecommendI installed this Pergo vinyl laminate over another vinyl laminate floor using a 2 mm under layment. The floor turned out well...level, solid, and no squeaks. My only complaint with new laminate was that it was brittle during cutting. I just had to be extra cautious in my hand cuts.

Would Not RecommendI thought with a name like Pergo I’d be putting down a decent product but this really let me down. The install was easy as click together flooring usually is and the product ‘feels’ durable. However in the installation process I chipped more edges trying to install the product than were damaged during shipping - This is not a durable or robust product so don’t tap with a hammer.
