Helped with germination

Product did help with germination of grass seed.. pulled it up after 3 weeks to get rid of straw look in our subdivision lawn. Just made first mowing of fescue afterwards.

wasteful

seriously, it rips out germinated grass when you pull up the plastic. and really, plastic netting that just goes in the trash?? are you that lazy that you can't just shake out a straw bale onto the ground?

This straw seed blanket made seeding my lawn so much easier. It was simple to roll out, stayed in place, and helped the grass seed germinate evenly. Great coverage and no mess. I noticed growth within a week—highly recommend!

Rolled out like a dream

Great product. Easy to apply and did a great job of protecting the area.

Solid product, slightly difficult to lay down

Overall a solid product for covering over grass seed to keep it protected while growing. However, slightly difficult to unroll, sticks on the edging then you end up with uneven rows. Had a very windy evening a few nights ago and came out and the hay was all over the place. Do suggest laying some rocks on the corners to keep it from moving around.

poor quality product

purchased 4 rolls of the seed blanket. 2 were fine but 2 were horrible. The picture doesn't do it justice but there was not much straw on 2 out of the 4. Photo shows one bad and one good. They have been installed so we cant return them.

Good for what it proposes to be not sure long term

It is a good product to keep your seeds and topsoil in place. It has a plastic mesh that I expect it will disapear with time, but for now it does not look pretty. Also, very strong rains and slopes will take your soil away, but it holds well the regular rain in flat terrain.

Works for hillsides

This worked great for keeping the seed and topsoil in place during the initial seeding and grow phase. I've had problems with thunderstorms washing my freshly planted grass down the hill, tried this and it works great! A little pricey but worth it.

Not much straw

I don’t like the netting, had a rat snake bought in it. Not much straw, I should have just bought straw.
