GXP 50 C disposal is unusable

I’ve owned the product for five years. It resides in our Lake home. Through the winter months it may not get ran much. After a time the disposal is locked up to get it to work. You have to use a broomstick handle to unlock it. It’s a disaster.

Sounds like a lawn mower but works good

This Moen replaced my insinkerator that leaked internally after about a year. Water leaked in the motor and it’s shot. This Moen operates fine but sounds like a lawn mower when it runs. The installer said it was quiet, but it’s not. I’d hate to hear the loud version.

Pros and cons

Pros: Compact space saver design. There were several different brands on display at the store and this one was the most compact. Universal installation design makes it easier to install as a replacement unit. Lighter weight also made installation easier. 5 year warranty is good, but is common among brands. Some more expensive units have longer warranties. Cons: Noisier than the old unit. The store display rated all the brands at medium noise levels, but this is noisier than my old one. My wife c...

Complete Junk - DO NOT BUY

Barely a year old. VERY lightly used yet it continuously jams. We don't even put coffee grounds in the sink. Had to buy a special tool because Moen does not use a common Allen wrench. Complete junk. Buying a replacement today - not Moen.

not MOEN quality- don't buy it

The 1/2 HP Moen is too loud. I wish I could remove it easily and return it. I don't have the time. But I deserve to get a refund.

Junk

Junk kept getting stuck then stopped working now the housing is cracked leaking water under my sink cabinet Will not buy this brand again .

Difficult Installation

Installation is made extremely difficult due to the use of a snap ring and a mounting ring that fits way to tightly to be tightened to the point indicated in the instructions. The old GE disposal that I replaced lasted 31 years and was a much simpler installation.

I just installed my new 2024 GXP50C Garbage Disposal

Like it so far, just had it 1 day

I just installed my Disposal, so i cant give to much input yet. After install and 1 use seems to work fine. This will be the 1st Moen I have bought.

REPLAECMENT DISPOSAL

I hope it works as good as the one that was replaced. Don't use it much so really doesn't matter.

Disposer

Installed disposer last week. So far, it works well.

SMALLER IN SIZE

Just bought and installed it 4 hours ago and haven't used it yet. One big difference is the unit is a lot smaller than the one I replaced so in spite of the HP being the same I hope it is up to the task.

I just had the disposal installed and am very pleased with it. I especially like the removeable "stopper" that gives me a better view of the disposal and the ability to wipe it out.
