not for use with veneers

I agree with the AI summary. I would not use with a veneer surface too hard to get these stain out. at least with wood you can sand a little more to get the stains off around the pin nails that I was using it for.

Great stainable filler for outdoor use

Takes stain very well

I recently had my screen porch rebuilt and there were quite a few gaps here and there, plus screwholes. I got this product to help fill some of them. It does take stain pretty well, it doesn't end up matching 100% so the stain looks a little different on it. But it's close enough that most people won't notice, I only notice because I know where I put it. Great product for when just a squeeze bottle of wood filler won't cut it.

My weekend project was repairing our mailbox wooden post that had considerable cracking and one rather large hole at the end of the wooden cross section (which the mailbox sits on and is attached to). I purchased a container of MINWAX STAINABLE WOOD FILLER from Lowe's. This is an excellent wood crack and hole filler. Stainable…Barely

It applies easy. Sand easy that where positives stop. I used this on a light cedar table to fill a gouge. The color match was close enough until I applied the finish. The finish just appeared to sit on top the filler. I would have been better off not filling the gouge. Lesson learned!
