Good product. I've been using this for years. The price is still comparable to what it's always been too. Maybe $3 or $4 more.

Smooth Finish

I have used this Minwax Lacquer for many years. It is easy to apply, smooths out very good with no brush marks, and is very durable finish to my artwork.

Not a True Lacquer

True lacquer uses acetone for thinning and clean up. This appears to be a mixtures of different organic components, hence paint thinner is recommended for clean up

Garbage

Absolutely horrible!!!! I will never use again. Refinishing a desk top and had been using the spray can on other items. I wanted a better finish so I tried the brushable lacquer. It tacks up before you can even brush it out leaving behind lots of brush marks and high spots. Now I have to sand this entire desktop down just to get rid of the horrible brush marks and uneven coating. Worst product I've ever used.

i shoulda started sooner

love this stuff. i wish i would have started using it sooner. it dries quick, easy to apply (i use a small HVLP sprayer from HF) & use a small brush to get in the tight areas

Goes on evenly

Very easy to apply with a brush. Goes on even with no runs. Has a nice uniform look to it. Very happy with this product.

Great coating for wood

I used this to coat some wood projects like end tables, outdoor table, and a cheese board. The lacquer has a strong order , so this should ONLY be used out doors with good ventilation. This gives a great protection for the wood.

Didn’t level or cure

Sealed with SealCoat sanded smooth. Sprayed 3 coats is minwax lacquer waiting 4 or more hours between coats. Left a rough surface. Tried light sanding to smooth surface. Applied brushing lacquer using natural bristle brush. Brushing lacquer didn’t go on smoothly appearing to eat into the existing lacquer. Finish did not level at all, leaving severe brush marks. Minwax rep told me that I couldn’t recoat the sprayed lacquer with polyurethane and to use brushing lacquer. Temp in mid 60’s. Sanding ...

still need to sand between coats

I got this because it said you didn't have to sand between coats but after applying this to my wood shelves the texture was rougher than before. So I will be sanding between coats to get the glass smooth finish I like to get to make dusting and cleaning easier.

Paint stripper not a finish.

This acted as a paint stripper and ruined my Wifes project.
