Broke 3 times in the first year

DO NOT BUY! Just spend more money on a better washer. This broke three times in the first year and took two companies to fix. Were it user error, I'd be a little more gracious, but it was some sensor issue that even the repair man said he'd been seeing with this washer everywhere.

DO NOT BUY THIS WASHING MACHINE

At first I loved this machine. Large capacity, no digital display with lots of potential IT issues. After 2 years the machine stops mid-cycle and won't drain. After googling how to unlock the lid and remove the soaking wet clothes, extended warranty covers THREE technician visits. Mother board and drain pump needed to be replaced. Then the machine lid wouldn't unlock. At that point warranty reimburses the cost of this machine to buy a new washing machine. This process has taken four weeks....

Never buy another Maytag

Just under 2 years, the lid lock light flashes. Had to unplug to get clothes out and bail water out of the tub. I tried to do a reset. That didn't work. I called Maytag Customer Service and got the impression they didn't care. Maytag is the quality product it once was. I will never buy Maytag again.

At approximately eight months old, the drain pump failed completely. The service technician actually showed me the failed pump—the plastic impeller blades were broken off, leaving the pump unable to move water. The washer was left full of water with the lid locked, and I ultimately had to manually drain the entire tub by bucket just to get my laundry out. ...

Stopped working twice in 7 months

Sales man said Maytag was the BEST! Just a used car salesman. Electronics down twice in 7 months. It takes a month for someone to come out, ordered the part, and then come to install. So down 2 months out of 7.

Very Loud - Broke in 2 years

Loudest water fill on the planet. Recently stopped working after 2 years of ownership. Isn't showing me a gate code.

Poor Quality!

Very poor product! This washing machine is only 3 years old and it now only works intermittently. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t even turn on. We’ve spent $ on a repair man to come in to say we should just get a new washing machine rather than fix this. The inside of the machine is also rusting, causing chunks of paint/metal to go onto our clean clothes. This machine is loud.

As Usual a Piece of Crap

The lock has broken on the machine. 6 months old. Maytag used to be the hallmark of durability but is now just whirlpool trash. I went all summer with my Maytag dryer broken as it took the repair main 5 trips to fix. And after 2 weeks of being able to catch up on laundry the Maytag washer breaks. I will never buy Maytag again. Chinese trash assembled in USA maybe?

PRODUCT FAILURE and junk protection plan

FAILED AFTER 28 MONTHS. KNOWN ISSUE. Bought protection plan and Lowes decided to refund 75% of purchase price. on lowes card not back to CC I used to purshase with.

Service repairs and poor options!

They do not make washers like they used to and Whirlpool owns Maytag now. I have had to call and have a service repair person come out at least 6 times in under a year and it is still not fixed. This machine is loud, will not fill with water with the lid up, has no rinse only option, and to force rinse, it goes through 4 rinse cycles. Steer clear of this machine. I will be filing a replacement claim and hope I can upgrade.

July 18, 2026 March, 2025, the Maytag MVW5430MW2, S/N CE0700306, washing machine was installed. July, 2026, the washer said Done but sheets were still too wet to hang or put in dryer. I put one set of sheets back in and tried to run Drain & Spin. Washer went thru 4 short sensor moves, then clicked Done. Lid lock never engaged. I tried the normal cycle, same results. Repairing 2 year old washer

Bought 2 years ago lid lock broke and main board failed now waiting on expensive parts for 2 year old washer.They dont last like they used to.

Repaired several times

Had to have repaired about 2 years after purchase then again 3 weeks later and it’s being replaced all together. Thank fully I bought the extended warranty but why should I have to just to have a product last just over 2 years ?!?

Great Efficiency!

SLOW

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Much slower than our old Maytag washer. About one hour to wash a load. Also, I don't like the fact that you can't open the lid and add any clothes once the cycle has started.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It makes a very loud clicking sound when washing more than a mini load. Could this be a warranty issue? If it isn't I am going to sell it and get a Speed Queen like I wanted to in the first place.

Not what I expected from the Maytag brand

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When using the deep fill setting it still doesn't seem to wash a large comforter well. There are dry spots, meaning its not fully submerged in the water. Also several times 5 minutes into a wash cycle its been draining and going to rinse and needs to be restarted.
