Excellent smoker and grill

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had a lot of different smokers and grill throughout the years and currently have three different units. I've been using gravity feds a lot lately but a friend of mine got one of these Autoignite and I really liked the food he was producing so I decided to get one. This thing holds temps rocksolid, hot and fast or slow and low it does it all. Very happy with the unit.

Great at low & slow, struggles at Hot & Fast

Bought this hoping for a real Swiss Army knife that could do everything fairly well. What I got was a surprisingly good smoker that’s pretty underwhelming at higher temps. Even an hour of pre-heating at 650 isn’t enough temp to create any real grill char on foods. It’ll get the job done eventually, but an hour of start up time just to throw some burgers on and have them come off looking like they were baked in an oven is kinda lame. Auto Ignite worked only once so I have light it manually every time and cook VERY uneven. I cooked chicken wings and half burnt the other half was raw.

GREAT GRILL! POOR APP!

Ive owned this grill for about 2 months now. Ive cooked on it practically every week. I LOVE the grill, but the app has been very disappointing! Approximately 30% of the time it connects and works, when it does, its beautiful. Most times, it lets me down. Ive had only a small amount of success uninstalling and re-installing the app, who wants to do that everytime!?. If Masterbuilt would fix this SORELY DISSAPOINTING app, I would not hesitate to give this grill a 5 star rating.

Solid little unit, excellent temperature control

I've owned a lot of different grills and smokers throughout the years, used to be a diehard stick burner guy then went to a pellet smoker then a gravity fed. A friend of mine bought this grill/smoker and I was pretty impressed with it so I decided to purchase one myself. This thing has excellent temperature control I've been really surprised, it produces great food slow and low or high heat searing. Food turns out great, but.

I've never been able to get it to hook up to the app. There is no phone support for any help with the product. Ashes are everywhere. Because the ash can is way too small for the size of the hopper. Once you get the grill going though it's pretty awesome. I bought this Grill for the convenience and it's been nothing but the opposite.

Great charcoal taste for someone that is too lazy

With the Bluetooth it allows me to keep an eye on my cook even when I'm not home. Its been over four years using this at least twice a week and I still have not had to put together my second grill.

Outstanding Grill that meets our needs.

The grill is large enough for us to grill our meats and also some vegetables. I like that I can move it to a location that is out of the sun and out of the wind. My new everyday grill!

I'm 4 cooks into using the AutoIgnite and I'm loving every minute of it!! Lighting this bad boy up is as easy as turning on a gas grill but with all the benefits of a charcoal grill (and more!). Another Great New Product From Masterbuilt

Masterbuilt has done it again, another amazing product to add to our arensal. The AutoIgnite Series 545 Digital Charcoal Grill & Smoker is a new product similar to their Gravity Series Smokers, but a litte more compact and with a ton of new features.
