Would RecommendI purchased the Master Forge 23800-BYU Kerosene heater last winter when my heat pump stopped working. I followed the initial start-up instructions in the provided manual and it started right up! I did this outside in a well-vented area before using it inside my home. I would highly recommend you read the manual in regard to wick maintenance and replacement and the dry burn procedure. I would recommend purchasing a replacement wick to store away. Replacement Wicks Can Only Be Ordered by Phone.
Would Not RecommendI bought two of these. Although they heat well, they are smoky. The wicks needed to be changed in less than two months. The only way to purchase new wicks is by ordering over the phone, Mon-Fri from 8 am - 6:30 pm CST. They can't be purchased in-store or online. So if your wick goes bad, then you will have to wait several days for a replacement. Hopefully, it's not too late to return them.

Would Not Recommendbought this heater yest. like instructions said I took it outside for first lighting . That thing smoked and smoke. adjusted +readjusted burner for over an hr trying to get it to set right. Finally got it to quit smoking and brought it into the house then it would not relight. Returning Smoky dud!
